I've asked about indicators before, but finally settled on the idea of getting round, matte black bullet lights for my M695. Want to match the headlight shape, and I powder coated the bezel among other things so dark is good - pic below. Prefer smoked amber lens, and matte finish on the body of the indicator.
Will these ones work? If not, which would? I suspect I need a long arm...

these are available with various finishes and lenses from anyone with a parts unlimited catalog (99.99% of motorcycle shops in the US) . they will fit your headlight with 0 mods. But for the rear you may need to fabricate a bracket or extension to clear the seat if you have a fender eliminator.
kopfjager the style I want is round so those won't work, but thanks.
xcaptainxbloodx the ones you linked to look good but aren't DOT approved - is that going to get me a ticket?
don't need rear ones - already have a fender eliminator and light system in there.
how bout these-
http://www.rizoma.com/universal/indicator-lights/fr150/en (http://www.rizoma.com/universal/indicator-lights/fr150/en)
tiny and super bright
there arent DOT approved aftermarket signals (AFAIK)
Europe has a street approved designation called 'e-marked'
the US doesnt do this...your fender eliminator and rear signals are not DOT either
The ones from Revival look slick, and would look good with your bike imo. Revival typically doesn't sell anything that sucks ime.
I like the Oberon ones the best, I think Monsterparts stocks those. The anodized black is understated and fairly close to the "matte" finish you seek. They are what I'm running. Very well built too (but be careful, the anodizing scratches fairly easy)

laws vary, but any aftermarket light isnt going to be DOT. In my experience, as long as it blinks yellow and is bright enough you will be fine. But if the cops a dick about it you could get what is generally a 10$ fix it ticket (again, laws vary).
Update: got indicators from Dime City (these ones: http://www.dimecitycycles.com/vintage-cafe-racer-caferacer-bobber-brat-chopper-custom-motorcycle-electronic-parts-round-aluminum-smoke-markers-blinkers-turn-signals-25-8630.html (http://www.dimecitycycles.com/vintage-cafe-racer-caferacer-bobber-brat-chopper-custom-motorcycle-electronic-parts-round-aluminum-smoke-markers-blinkers-turn-signals-25-8630.html) ) and installed last weekend: photo coming shortly...
pics!
I dropped the headlight and replaced the left indicator 9so you can compare the original ones to the new ones)

bunch of wires showing between the headlights and the instrument cluster... thoughts?
also now I want some aux lights / driving lights, fork mounted, but not $300.... suggestions?
If you want to clean up all that wiring, it opens up a big can of worms. In other words it's a lot of tedious work. ;)
yeah it's either that or embrace the suck and add MORE wires so it's a look ;)
Quotenow I want some aux lights / driving lights, fork mounted, but not $300.... suggestions?
I have these on my car (my DD, 1992 NA6 Miata). I bought them for $50 / pair (introduction sale price, I got them when they first came out.)
Cheap, light weight & small (good for fork mounting), very easy to hook up. If you want your auxiliary light as DRL (conspicuity light), they will work pretty good. (Keep in mind "pencil spot" is NOT ideal beam pattern for DRL.)
http://stores.advmonster.com/m5-led-spot-light-pair/ (http://stores.advmonster.com/m5-led-spot-light-pair/)
They are $70 for a pair right now.
Other options ...
http://stores.advmonster.com/model-30-led-off-road-spot-light/ (http://stores.advmonster.com/model-30-led-off-road-spot-light/)
$40 for one unit, so you will spend $80 for a pair
http://stores.advmonster.com/f11-fog-light-pair/ (http://stores.advmonster.com/f11-fog-light-pair/)
$110 for a pair.
F11 is nicer, as its beam pattern has cut off.
Or, these
http://mondomotos.com/MM10 (http://mondomotos.com/MM10)
$120 for a pair.
I like those $80/pair ones!
You may want to use these for mounting the lights on the forks,
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/20994/i/pro-tek-fork-tube-clamps (http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/20994/i/pro-tek-fork-tube-clamps)
... rather than mounting them on the fender mounting bolts or brake caliper mounting bolts.
I really love what you are doing with your bike! It is looking great!
I would copy you if I wasn't so committed to my current bike!

Thanks Spike! It's my first bike and I can't stop tweaking things - it's fun ;D
Got a custom license plate coming (black with yellow letters), bought fabric for a new seat cover (the one I did wasn't perfectly executed) and I want those aux lights. Might try and 3D print a headlight grill... would like new handlebar grips...
If I put fork boots on though... someone slap me (tempted....) [laugh]
S21FOLGORE, do you think it's OK to powder coat those fork clamps? Yes if the inside face is masked off?
If you look around, you can find black ones.

Drop the gauges Brother! ;) Besides that it looks great! Very similar to my 620 Dark. Clearly you have excellent taste.

The gauges are currently sitting on top of your top triple. You can move them to under the top triple and even out the look when you have lowered headlights.
Right now, I can only find this ...

But if I were you, I'd just get a pair of Pro-Tek clamps and plastidip them.
