Title: Barnet clutch pack part number?
Post by: d3vi@nt on December 20, 2014, 10:14:51 PM
Probably a dumb question, but...

I'm converting my '99 ST2 clutch from steel to aluminum (hub, basket, plates). But looking at forum threads and Barnett's site, I can't tell which pack is the aluminum pack? I thought they made both steel and aluminum.

Their site references part # 306-25-40002, but they show the same part # for all ST's for all years, including those that have stock steel baskets.

Can the 306-25-40002 be run in an aluminum basket? Or is there a different part number for aluminum?

Thanks, as always.

The ST2 plates are the common dry clutch kit from Barnett available from our sponsors. That kit fits a lot of years and models of dry clutches.

They last better in an alloy basket. The friction plates are alloy and the tangs can get hammered by a steel basket.
CCW has that number for the kit.

BTW, a buddy of mine has recently got an ST2 and loves it.

Awesome. Thanks for the info and clarification. I'm going to grab a set.

I told myself since the bike is older and not worth much, I wasn't going to throw money at it.  Yet, here I go...  [laugh]
