Imagine a Desmo V4 air cooled sport tourer with 130+.
Not would be super sweet
dibs on the desmo v-8
Nah, me no likey large engines.
I'd take the 3-cylinder, the poor bhp notwithstanding.

true, that rpm potential is insane, id love to ride something that rapped out to 18k lol that's nearing jet engine territory
guess its time to start researching a SC DS1000...

There've been a couple of supercharged SBKs, and there used to be a kit. SuperSqualo comes to mind... the story is on duccutters as well.

I've ridden the supersqualo, got to fang it up the local dragstrip a few times! :)
and I use to take the supercharged monster home for the weekend to give it a flogging. 8)

Thanks for rubbing it in ;)
Methanol, anyone?
the story behind the triple is really odd. ricardo have been building engines for so long that them making a dud is very hard to understand.

Yeah, I wonder what happened with the 30 HP output? Seems like Ricardo wouldn't have made a major design mistake. It also seems like Ducati would have figured out something like cam timing in a high revving engine. I bet there was a sweet spot at 16,231 RPM's where the HP went to 90, but 10 rev's below or above that it dropped back to 30.
Too bad all the R&D reportedly stopped when the company was sold. Maybe someday Ducati can be a profitable independent company again and not have to worry about too many non-riding accountants.
