Post by: NAKID on April 04, 2015, 12:24:36 PM
So, despite the stupid title, who's gonna watch it this summer?

It's a story that takes place in LA, but it is filmed in Vancouver.

I love visiting Vancouver, but that just spells "low budget craptastic" to me.

Granted, filming in LA would have increased the cost by 30million %, but filming on-location in Georgia was a masterstroke.  And far more cost effective.

Remains to be seen if the show is is a turd due to that.

I'm hoping. This between season time is just too long. And all this mid season break stuff is annoying as well.

Either way, a lot of "Los Angeles" things are filmed in Western Canada. A lot of movies do the same thing. It doesn't scream low budget to me, just fiscally responsible. Filming in a less expensive location just means they can spend more money where it needs it.

Filming on location in GA I'm sure was fairly inexpensive considering the area...

I'm just thinking of the slew of shows that came out in the early 90s that were all filmed around Vancouver after the TV companies quietly set up facilities in CA to avoid Cali's cost..  Maybe things have come along since then.. :-)

I'm definitely watching. Up to now there has never been any attempt at explaining how it all started.

That's what's got me interested. I'm just wondering how far they can take it and, if after a certain point, it will just become another "The Walking Dead" just from the LA POV...

I wonder what the cause will be?

My moneys on someone finding the cure for the common cold with some minor side effects.

ha

i think it will be either some kind of weaponized disease (old standby for hollywood) or relevant to something in the news recently, like government surveillance or even a foreign power trying to affect human behavior.  they like tie-ins too.

but common cold remedy?  hahahaha

It could be something that another country used on us. I don't remember, has TWD said whether this is a worldwide epidemic?
