That thing is sick!
I used to watch these on TV growing up. Pretty awesome stuff IMO.

If you've never seen them live, you gotta go. They shake the earth. [evil]
A) There's tractor pulls outside the US? I'm stunned.
B) The V8 is just a throttle 'trim'?

Fantastic [evil]
There are some rigs there that Autocat would build to chase Motormouse. :D
This thing was from just a bit south of here.

I never saw it pull in that configuration. I think it had 4 when I saw it.
What a beast. What blocks are they?
Stroked Hemi's, 526 cu in., but all custom forged aluminum blocks and heads.
The guy and his son still build pulling engines in Weare, NH. His wife used to run the tractor...and the funny cars they ran before that.

A) Yeah, that surprised the hell outta me too.
B) Not sure I understand what you mean by "throttle trim", but my understanding of it is that the two diesels provide a shit-ton of low end torque and then once up to speed, the blown nitro burner provides a tremendous amount of hp.

Well, the rig got rolling with a lot of noise and smoke from the two V-12's, but the butterflys on the V-8 weren't open.
A bit later, the V-8 throttle opens.
I'm assuming he pins the throttle on the V-12's, and uses the V-8 as additional (or not) as necessary.

Maybe the butterflies don't open far enough to notice until the v8's over 1,500 rpm and the diesels are getting over-revved.

People get bored in their spare time in other countries too, you know. [laugh]

Interesting thought. Diesels reach or are just above peak, the V8 adds some extra twist.
