Ok I know this is probably a loaded question... I have 100 miles on my monster. Is it safe to make a 2 hour highway run at a consistent ish rpm? (Under 6k rpm) About 130 mile trip. Any advice would be much appreciated.
You shouldn't . . . if you need to do it, vary rpm . .. and load
That's all I needed to hear. I'll do the typical break in and avoid highway until then. Thanks for the quick response.
just one more item, try doing the break in in Urban mode . . . RPMs go up slower and it's easier to manage the power delivery . . .
It's brutal but so far I have kept it in urban. I'll resist the temptations as I break it in. :'( Thanks again. Loving the bike so far.

A contrarian point of view: A long highway isn't bad at all. Maintaining constant rpm is bad. Easy problem to solve. Just shift between gears every mile. Nice thing about long rides is you break the bike in quickly.
