Ddan can explain why you'll actually be "barracking" rather than "rooting"....

One point down at half time.

Clearly you're all not...  um...  rooting loudly enough!

A game can end in a tie?

That would never fly here.

Shorty Junior just commented that Jason Holmes will be expecting "over time"....

Yup.  Our game can end in a tie.  It's quite rare in AFL footy though.

St. Kilda seem to be quite good at it however.

Fair enough.

I've watched American sports for a long time.

I've seen some 'names' play...

and in every game there was a winner...

I guess it's all pointless. :-*

Winners of said games play in the Grand Final next Saturday.

The game, although exciting, has gone soft. Tackles and hits that would have won a free kick when I was playing, now get you 4 weeks suspension. Bah!
Carn the Hawks!

Now, can someone from down-under explain to us from up-over what "carn" means?

Not from there, but in that context it's like 'C'mon Hawks'!

There is...

You met Steve... [evil]

Carn means "come on" and comes from the drunken crowds of Austrailan Rules Football. It can be extended past "come on", as it can be used like "carn the Pies" when you cannot say "come on the Pies".

Pretty rare to win three straight. The league has implemented salary caps and player drafts favouring lower ranked teams to avoid such dominance. Hasn't stopped Hawthorn FC and I guess the coaching staff and adm-n can take alot of credit.

I like American football. Amazing how fast blokes that size can be. It looks like a blend of rugby and speed chess.
