WHY ARE LS ENGINES SO GOOD (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsmbbuSq9m0&ab_channel=/DRIVE)

That was super informative!
I learned a bit.

Maybe so, but it's getting incredibly boring seeing them swapped into everything. So original, yawn.
:P
Someone tossed a an LS6 into a 280Z. I'm not really sure how you would steer that much motor in that little car.

There's no way in HELL he's running the stock steering setup in that thing, because mine's squirrelly as hell at 40mph. make the beast with two backs 140. [laugh]
Even with a different steering setup though, with a wheelbase that short, shit can go bad really quickly...

I guess they need a treadmill.
It's a good thing they uploaded all 9 minutes of that to YouTube.
And how is that engine going to handle the change in altitude, climbing, diving, banking?

I can't even imagine the cost to get that custom motor FAA certified.
Saw a little seaplane at a mall exhibit that had one of the LS motors in it, IIRC.
Pilot there said it was way better than the unreliable engine it had originally.
Not this plane, but one of these:

My uncle flies and has two planes -- always pregnant doging about the cost to get stuff repaired and the FAA inspections etc. His planes are bone-stock piston Bonanza and a Mirage.
Putting a non-AV motor in.. just seems like it would be hard to get past the FAA.. then again, maybe it's been done so many times it is an accepted alternative now..
