Needs a name.

was reading about it yesterday from 2 diff publications . . it has an orbit different to the other planets . .
I read about it, but the article didn't do a good job at explaining how a planet could be missed. I understood it's on a weird orbit, but these planets impact other celestial objects around them.

Don't even start with the Star Wars jokes. They haven't even started filming and the movie was already postponed to December 2017 since Disney realized that they have less competition and can sell more toys closer to Xmas.

The way I understood it is because of the massive orbit (about 10,000 years for one complete trip) they have not been able to see it directly, but noticed that the gravitational effect it has on objects in the Kuiper Belt are what led them to speculate it's existence.
How could you not call this thread "Planet Nine From Outer Space" Kopf?
So disappointed in you.
[clap]
We're doomed. Melancholia.
I thought science knew everything about everything already.

" Greetings, my friend. We are all interested in the future, for that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives. And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future. You are interested in the unknown, the mysterious, the unexplainable. That is why you are here. And now, for the first time, we are bringing to you the full story of what happened on that fateful day. We are bringing you all the evidence, based only on the secret testimony of the miserable souls who survived this terrifying ordeal. The incidents, the places. My friend, we cannot keep this a secret any longer. Let us punish the guilty. Let us reward the innocent. My friend, can your heart stand the shocking facts about grave robbers from outer space?"

it has an egg shaped orbit that has a period of about 100 million years. probably was a bit too far for Copernicus to notice.
David Bowie dies and a new planet is found days later.. hmmm.
Psssssh, I've known about it for years. ;D

Obi Wan Kenobi: That’s no moon…it’s a space station.
Han: It’s too big to be a space station.
Luke: I have a very bad feeling about this.

I prefer Han's "I got a bad feeling about this."
