Wouldn't have guessed that.
Crumple zones are a wonderful thing.
Driving my old Cougar kind of freaks me out sometimes, knowing that a hard hit to the rear will probably lead to the interior of the car being swamped with gasoline and the potential for burning to death. Nothing between the tank and the passenger compartment but the back seat. :P
The point is not to crash it.
If you're driving around a 59 Bel Aire as your daily driver, you deserve a crash.

Welcome to 2009.
Why?
because it's a classic car and you shouldn't use a classic car as a DAILY driver.
not saying you have to keep it in a museum, but it is irreplaceable.

Cripes
that's your argument?
Let's not use it or else something may happen and we won't be able to not use it in the future. [laugh]

Wow, way to destroy a classic car....
Style points for the furry dice in the Bel Air.

I'm sorry my silly opinion hurt your feelings.
I hope it gets better.
;-)
I pronounce the curse of the ancient daily drivers upon you!
Never shall you own a dog. :-*
You are missing the whole point, which is avoid people that drive Chevy Malibues .
Watching the video again and there's a cloud of rust from the Bel Air after impact. No doubt that modern cars are safer but it would be worth knowing the condition of the older car and how to account for fifty-some years of rust and metal fatigue.

When I drive my baja bugs on the street, i treat it like I'm riding a moto and i am invisible...even though my 69 shoots flames 3 feet in air out of the stinger!
