Title: Just wondering
Post by: Kevin848 on July 17, 2008, 01:42:35 AM
Has anyone tried putting Rain-X or something similar on their visor to keep the bug goo from sticking. Had a really meaty one tonight, so much so I had to pull over at a gas station and clean it off so I could see  :-X

I've used Rain-ex and wax with good results (you've got to buff the wax good or it streaks/hazes.

Hiero had some super-wham-O-dyne stuff in the hill country he was using...
I don't remember what it was.

I use Plexus, and the stuff works wonders. I got mine at Cycle Gear.

i love rainX on glass...i was always a little hesitant to try it on plastics, just because of the warnings on the bottle about not letting it contact paint or anything besides glass.

plexus is very good for visors

I just use my griot's garage spray on wax because it's got some lubricity stuff in it to help clean the bugs off at the same time as leaving a very small layer of wax... plus I have tons of the stuff because I use it on the car all the time..

Plexus is good. I use the Honda brand spray cleaner and polish, universally known as awesome stuff. So good other brand shops keep the Honda stuff on their shelves because they too know it's good and their customers will want it. Before a big road trip I'll really clean my shield then I'll hit it with a couple of coats of Mother's Canuba wax, let it dry and buff with microfiber towel, same for the windscreen.
