What does it mean when the amber light with what looks like an engine lights up on the dash? It happened a couple of times after I installed a new CRG clutch lever, I bever saw it previous to that. It will come on for a couple of seconds then go away? When the light is on, the bike seems to run fine. I checked in the owners manual, they called it a EODB light, and said it comes on when the enigine is going to lock up, but again, it seemed like it was running fine. Bike is a 696. Is it something I should worry about? It has been pretty hot here the past couple of days, 90+, but both times it occured at night. Does it have anything to do with the clustch inhibitor? Still not exactly sure what that does, but if anyone is familiar with CRG/Pazzo levers, the setting was on 5. Any help would be appreciated.
The light means the computer self diagnostics picked up a fault. As long as the bike runs well there is no need to panic, but the bike should go to a repair shop capable of scanning the computer for trouble codes.
Take a look at the manual. Within I believe you will find a procedure for reading the codes on the instrument panel.
My amber light came on and 2kms later the bike exploded.
Just kidding.
If you can't figure it out take it to the dealer. The bike is under warranty.......use it!
