I was just wondering. Personally I enjoy hearing my motorcycle while zipping around. You know, sound of the engine rev's, wind, etc.
Plus, if you have music in, can you still hear cars and motor?

I have a Sena bluetooth unit for mine and my wife's helmets. I can hear the music, the bike, and traffic around me since they have speakers, not ear buds.
Only if I'm touring for a multi day trip and usually only on straight, boring sections of road, which is almost always on my ST4 now. I haven't listened to music while on the monster for a few years now.
I tried it, it's not for me.
Most definitely. While touring on the Multi or a spirited run on the Monster, I enjoy the tunes in my ears. I prefer not to wear earbuds but built in speakers like the ones in my Schuberth helmets. It's not blaring so load I can't hear the revs but just loud enough to hear and hummm along.

what he said . . . 4 Desmo valves make very good music
Never ever!
Music? Blasphemy!
With the music I listen to, I'd get arrested, be administered 50,000 volts and lose my licence for a long time. [evil]
I just use the Bluetooth Scalarider to chat to the Good Lady Wife on pleasant date rides. Very civilized.
I listen to in-helmet-music when I'm dirt road riding.... only me and the wallabies to beware of... but never, ever when riding the Monster on the road.
No. Life on the road, as a motorcyclist, is already dangerous enough, without impeding one of your senses.
Not for me either. Firstly need to be fully aware of my surroundings. Secondly the Termingonis are the best music anyway!
The dulcet tones of a well tuned desmo is all the music I need. ;D
Another non music vote here.
Always, and I shouldn't, more so because it's very hard on your hearing than I think it's that dangerous.
As a daily rider ( own 3 bikes.. 2 Ducs and one MV) her in L.A, arguably the most dangerous place to ride due to the worst traffic in the nation, I ride with music unless i'm on the track (then it's ear plugs only to protect my ears. Short jaunts, i'll usually pass on tunes but commuting is always done to music
It's not a big deal to ride while listening to music.
PERIOD
When I voted and gave my opinion I wasn't thinking of the safety side, more the tickets from listening to Black Sabbath. [evil]
:D [thumbsup] ding ding ding
I've been riding for 50 years and never listened to music while riding. I had speakers in a helmet once for a radar detector, so I could have then, butt never did. I have ridden cross country, commuted on bike my whole working life, and the music in my head was always enough!
Music in the car - yes. Never did try it on the bikes and can't fathom it. I know folks that do but I can't. Never liked headphones while flying hang gliders either. I always had to listen to the wind and whatever noise might be coming from the glider.
I think this poll should require all participants to add their age so we can begin a new category.
Old Folkies and Youngn's :P
My buddies listen to techno fast pace and said that it helps them a lot. The same rhythm helps them whereas a music with words etc is distracting according to them. I listen all kinds of music when I ride but could not do techno. But I do turn music off when i am on a very technical road.
