Title: warranty on ducati performance parts
Post by: jesse370 on July 17, 2008, 07:19:48 PM
I posted this on TOB cause I wasn't able to connect to this one for a while....felt so dirty......
funny thing is I posted it and can't find the damn thing in the forum I put it in.....make the beast with two backsing canadiens....

So last year I purchased the Ducati performance black steering damper. Less then I year later my nice $600 damper has died and has really pissed me off.

I bought the thing cause I figured the quality was high to go with the premium price point. So my question is do they have a one year warranty on the stuff in the performance catalog?

Cause if not I will be very very pissed.

Thanks for any help.

So on top of finding out about this today, when I was in the process of installing my CRG's.....my stand ejects my bike and it crashes to the ground.
Damage:
Scuffed bar end
scuffed mickey mouse mirror
snapped stock lever ( was replacing it anyway )
marks in my new clutch cover
bent the shit out of my rear brake lever

so if anyone has any knowledge that will make me happy that would be rad, cause this much bad bike karma in one day is kinda crappy..... :(

I'd like to tell you that performance parts are warranteed like any other ad -on part but I need to check before I say 100% yes. The full Termi Exhaust system I had installed by the Dealership had a warranty , but a year, I'm not sure on that.

For some reason I'm thinking one year warranty, but don't quote me on that

Yes.  I can affirm that all DP parts (installed by a dealer, I think) carries a 2 year warranty.  My DP integrated mirror/signal failed after one season and they replaced gratis.

yeap its 2 years. thanks guys. I installed the damper myself so the ball is in the court of the dealer to either claim they installed it, or ducati to not care that I did.

If you installed it yourself warranty is either 30 or 90 days.  Why should the dealer lie for you?  Don't count on Ducati not caring either.

Yes  there is a difference as to who installs said part and said warranty. I seem to remember when I got my S4Rs delivered to me after the full Termi Exhaust had been Dealer installed last Winter the Tech who delivered it told me had I installed it ( like I could ) there would only have been a 90 day warranty. When the dealer installed it, it had a 2 year warranty.

That would be correct.  [thumbsup]

had KNOWN that its a 2 year warranty I would've had the shop do it...i hope this gets worked out in a way that I don't loose my freaking shirt. Its a freaking damper it would've failed just the same if the shop did install it.
