I've got a nice three hour loop that starts down in Celina and works its way north towards Sherman. It uses the "best" parts of eastbound 455 then heads north to eventually pick up FM 697. That road puts you in Sherman, more or less. Then you turn right around and come back home the same way. It's a very nice ride route through some entertaining twisty bits (FM 697 :o ) and some decent scenery.
Any takers? Prolly a Sunday would be better traffic-wise but I'm open. The weather forcast has rain predicted for the next week, but who knows!
What date would work best for you folks?
I'm out this weekend as #1 is graduating from Texas Tech!!!!!

I'll have to check with the Day Planner, but I can probably do Sunday (I have to work Saturday... :( )
"your loop" you say? ;)
I'll be in Toronto so but oh how I wish I could
Saturday is out for me, but maybe you should consider it - Sunday is looking like rain. [roll]
Not supposed to rain until later Sunday afternoon... so let's get an early start!
Count me as a maybe on this one. I might have to work some this weekend and won't know until later on. [bang]
Well, I'll solve the scheduling problem right now; I've got an electrical short somewhere that fries my brake light after about a minute [bang] Also, next weekend I'll be out of town…
So, let's think about possible dates in June?

Brakes? What are those?
seriously who uses brakes in an "R" model?

The R model absolutely needs brakes. Double brakes… And an arresting hook.
BUT! not to worry - Jordan is on the case as of this afternoon. And here's the deal, talk about no free lunches: the new Leo Vince exhaust is what the factory brake light housing and turn signals are now mounted to. So the vibration from the muffler destroys the filaments in the light bulbs after about two and a half hours of riding Shocked
Jordan's got a nice LED brake light/turn signal part that actually mounts up under the bodywork, slightly recessed, and is above the muffler. It is attached with rubber mounts to the frame. Trick little part. AMS are also installing a new set of adjustable rear sets.
All of which to say, start thinking about weekend dates in June that might work for "Dax's Loop." Roll Eyes All aboard!!
Well... I'm going riding tomorrow AM. Anyone in? It may be the blind leading the blind, but I just went to the eye doctor yesterday....
I'm leaving Custer and Eldorado at 8AM, I can meet anyone anywhere...
Don't miss hwy 697!!!!!

Nice! Did you fly solo? I have got to get shit done around the house so I can get out. It seems the more I get completed on my "to do" list, the longer it gets! Finish one thing and two get added to the bottom!!

I did... It was sort of questionable whether it was a go or not. I had to check a box off the HoneyDo first thing (dirt and plants from Home Depot) then I rolled the bike out... and the kickstand mount bolt was missing. I was trying to figure out if that was God telling me I didn't need to go, or if this was just an impromptu engineering and fabrication pop test. Good thing I have the Duc spare parts catalog... Once I got home, however, it was back to the HoneyDo.
I can sympathize with you.... we are in the process of new floors/paint/windows/tile/shower/backyard... and guess who the primary contractor is? That is, 'in addition to my other duties' you see.
