Nice ship . . .
But, this lines from the reporter:
"The ship will be commissioned -- and officially become the USS Zumwalt -- on October 15 in Baltimore. Until then, Capt. Kirk (U.S. Navy, not United Federation of Planets) and his crew will test the ship's array of futuristic systems."
Made me spit my drink . . .
Long live the Elmo!
Pretty snappy guns they've got planned for that thing.
Wow. The future alright.
She was/is being built right up the coast from me. BIW (Bath Iron Works) has a long tradition of building ships for the US Navy. On one of her first shakedown cruises, she helped rescue a fisherman who was having a medical emergency..

Good maritime karma to save a life before taking any. Could be a righteous ship.
Headed out for sea trials (last winter I think.) Love this picture!

Tower looks like the tower of the alien space ship from "Cowboys and Aliens".
The crew have to have shaggy haircuts and beards... in a Zumwalt navy.

We've saved a few people via Naval Ship (but
only a $3b nuclear aircraft carrier) and we don't charge them.

Kirk did try to get Chekov to put on a red shirt in the last installment....which he was rightly hesitant to do..

It was parked here due to "issues" for a few weeks . .
Was cool to see it in Baltimore. Got closer to it in our Parker with CG auxiliary lights and banners than on the sailboat.
Too bad it doesn't work yet.

Hope the captain distinguishes himself with this new class of ship.
USS Enterprise (CVN-80) is scheduled for commission in 2025.

Captain Kirk will be retired by then. Maybe there will be a Captain Pike.

The captain is well known for coming out of retirement / accepting demotion for another chance with the Enterprise...

I heard Bick just bought one of those for personal and home defense.
Capt. Kirk turned the Con over to Capt. Tait.

I think I've said it before, but that ship looks SO interesting up close. Just different! ( I live less than 30 minutes from BIW.)
