Hi all has anyone got a power commander 3 on a 1000s monster with a plastic tank?? If so where and how did you mount it? Cause the Pic from the install manual shows it on the battery under the black rubber strap(but it is clearly a different bike), but when you put the tank back down it crushers it.
So any help from anyone please before I get the grinder out!! [evil]
My S2R800 without the silencer pad JUST has enough room on top of the battery. If the 1000 has higher heads, it might be difficult to mount it there - unless you want a smaller battery (Shorai etc.)
How long is the cable to the PCIII? Any room under the seat or rear side cover?
No room on battery anywhere, and the cable is only long enough to reach the thank area.
If I jam it down the right side of the tank it fits (just!!!) but the thing is VERY exposed to the element.
Wiring not long enough to put it behind left or right sidepanel, below the seat?
You may have to cover it with tape or something. Otherwise you could be looking at a Shorai Lithium battery to create some room. Sounds like the plastic tank takes up an extra cm here and there.
On my S2R1000, I had it on top of the battery under the strap. It was a tight fit with the sound deadening pad removed. Then I went with a Shorai battery and there was plenty of room for it.

+1 This is the exact same thing I did on my S2R800. On top until I switched to a Shorai.
If you still have your plastic side panels you can zip tie it underneath on the left side. Those are ugly though and all the cool kids remove them to show more of the frame. ;)
As noted on top.
A few runs of zip ties around the battery and then a secondary ziptie around the power commander thru the other zipties to keep in place.
on my s2r 800
tank pad removed shorai battery
sits on top of my battery
