Nicky has passed away as a result of his injuries sustained in a collision with a car during bicycle training.

Sad day. RIP Nicky.
So many dirtbags wasting air on this planet, and yet we lose Nicky.
Ride In Peace, Nicky.
I'm at a loss for words :'(
Wow :'(
I just don't know what else to say.
:'( R.I.P.
The Heavenly starting grid is too good...
Thousands of Moto related accidents, and it's a push-bike that does it..
make the beast with two backs :'(
Freaking terrible. Always one of the classiest guys in the paddock.
RIP
Such a tragedy.
He was a real stand up fella and a huge inspiration to so many people.
RIP Kentucky Kid
“Every man dies. Not every man really lives.†â€" William Wallace
Although this quote is very short, it has a very deep meaning. On the surface, it seems as if the quote is simply stating that everyone dies and not everyone gets the chance to live. But when looking at the deeper meaning, it’s saying that not everyone actually lives their live to the fullest. It is inevitable that everyone dies in this world at some point, but it is an individual choice whether you decide to live or not.
To really live means to live your life to the fullest. It means to chase your dreams, take risks, and to love life. Since everyone’s fate is the same, why not live the best life that you possibly can? In order to really live, you must seize the day. Live each day as if it's your last and overall just do it! Today is a gift, that’s why it’s called the present. Life presents us with a lifetime of opportunities but the opportunity of a lifetime is obtained when right choices are followed. Be present to enjoy the moment. Each day is a fresh start with options just waiting to be explored, so live life.
No one wants to be the person that dies without living. So people must find something that gives their life meaning, whether it’s being a great friend, sibling, parent, grandparent, teacher, neighbor, etc. Once people have found something to live for, they’ll live better. If it's not relationships as a central purpose, maybe its occupation or something that is outside work that makes a difference to others. The meaning of life is something people have to decide for themselves. To live life, set goals and move toward them in small reasonable steps.
Like yesterday I remember picking up DucMouse at the airport and taking her to a meet n greet with Nicky. What a fun day.

I remember having the extra miles with which to send her. So glad it all worked out!
RIP Nicky
I started watching moto racing in the early 2000s when Nicky just started in MotoGP. My first live GP race was Nicky's 1st Laguna Seca win!! Met his parents selling swag at an AMA race a few years later. Just seemed like a nice bunch of people enjoying their good fortune as a family.
RIP Nicky, you will be missed. :'(
He was always one of my favorites, especially since he was with Ducati and 69 is the number on my track bike. Big loss and very sorry for the family.(https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/_dYufSfyMbrXd_8s4rdRjc1HJsBV-SWGUtojG1tqF0HbeRhx0X5buIDmfOwdE2nwpIMeXxja5GreDV7KaCC_atBis40Imox8qUpfEwEFZfuxKbHKzwB1fwhNAhf4k-WQXyHSDbhoRQt8sPwmdKV7s-1EbUI1iBnKqrF6LdT25Fi_dAgGbeIKdGjxeHQeab4SmfZHSlCRPTMXiD_S1nqdMI0u_0OBwppG4Os6bbSfIbGVYHDHlXxWW7acRr3KzJ6AAomWFNpHYTXKk0_TfBmz-NSPNElzKQBtkavGUCe7EhPAfWLOU9XGad9LzOwkvZ74hKdnm-eg4Sq_KvgZDpzpoXmlr1ngWsHKMIiwS3mAF6vMU-_VCyRg_j8hyCwogds1diHlFgLt1exRNUNGrTi57yRcC9A_JliL50GVW2s3SaK0dmJsqxY8u-WLFa2bUqntNM9RN6AzPcibIb5i-af-QHRGb-18CV3sWa-2IZ6soUmCUbMUdcRQn_fkvEfPhhrZbn2R3lSTi28PADZ6wCnbYoEJYvODu5yg83KvItOYTI3DSX-lygSJNKgYGARrSZAlvBjPTbY1iF8kwIJiZkVj8UBorvgjeaf8JLdrW4yn-M8S8E7mqn9r=w953-h635-no)
Apparently they were going to release a special edition teddy bear to commemorate this year's WSBK Laguna Seca race:
http://www.gabitoy.com/en/licensed/gb-9945a-12.html
I sent an email to the company to see if I could buy one and have it delivered to a children's charity, preferably one selected by the Hayden family.
One of the guys from the club suggested that we meet up on June 9th, 6-9, to celebrate Nicky's life. I think this idea is perfect to apply across the world, so what say yea DMFers, we have less than 2 weeks to coordinate local meet ups.
Thought this was a great photo

Met Nicky at Sepang in 2012.
He seemed legitimately happy he was signing this bag rather than the regular stuff..
big smile and big "wow, very cool"
so sad he's gone... :'(

RIP Nicky!
Thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
Rip Nicky. Glad we got to say gday at PI last year when he filled in for Dani.
I like the tweet from Jack Miller where he pisted a pic of Nicky saying welcome. Cool guy.

I felt it. :-[
Funeral service is in Owensboro tomorrow. 2-8pm. We're going to try and make it. It still saddens me.
http://www.haleymcginnis.com/m/obituaries/Nicholas-Hayden/Memories
They're streaming funeral services for Nicky on his FB page at noon local time.
I'm sure many will pay their respects to someone who by all appearances was a genuinely warm and decent person.
A favorite of many including myself for his class as a sportsman.
I'm a couple of bourbons in and just sitting by the pool watching the clouds stream in... still seems unreal
I remember him laying a big strip of rubber going up the hill from Turn 1 at Sears Point on that RC51. Cant remember how he did in that race but it seems like he was doing quite well.
I guess thats a good way to remember him.

I recently did a little digging into the accident that claimed Nicky's life, when I attend WDW I rent a beautiful B&B and fill it with friends, it's at the back of the circuit and is reached by a very narrow back lane which crosses a main road.
There's a very sharp left corner just before the main road crossing and it's easy to miss that there's a crossing there (I missed it once) and that's were I believe that the accident happened,
next year when I return I'll take a minute and remember Nicky as he really was a great guy.
RIP Nicky.
Geoff... [coffee]
Just another thought both Lars (stopintime) and Jerry (Raux) have also stayed at the B&B so will also know thay very dangerous crossing.

I remember it well. It's a scary crossing. More so now. Maybe lay down a flower?
Lars I spoke with Stewart today and he's all for us meeting up sometime over the WDW weekend to remember Nicky and lay flowers on behalf of all the forum members.

I think we'll manage, but will let you know if that changes.
If I'm able to follow my plans, I'll be close enough to include Bologna and Misano the week before World Ducati Week.
Anyone able and willing to make/design a DMF card, a drawing or something I can print and make part of a flower greeting?
[Dolph]
Lars due to my current health situation Barb and I won't be attending WDW this time, Stewart and some of the UKMOC guys are hoping to visit the junction where the accident happened so keep a look out for them.
Take care, ride safe and have a great time in Italy and if you get to the villa say hi to Chiara.

Well guys and gals on Saturday afternoon I visited the spot were Nicky was killed, there is a small collection of flowers and cards plus the lamp post has quite a number of club stickers so I hope that you all don't mind but I added a sticker from our forum thanks to Nate and one from the UKMOC of which I'm also a member.
Geoff.... [coffee]
Much appreciated, Geoff, and we don't mind at all. [beer]
Thanks Geoff.
[thumbsup] Thank you!
I was there the Sunday before [Dolph]
My plan was to get flowers in Misano or the nearby other towns, but that wasn't easy/possible on a Sunday / siesta. Anyway.... glad to have been there.
Sorry excuse for a flower arrangement (, but I expect cool points when you in the next picture see from where I took the flowers)

Thank you Geoff and Lars for spreading some DMF love for Nicky. [thumbsup]
Lars is that the cop shop near to our favourite ice cream parlour and crazy restaurant.
I'm afraid that I didn't take a pic but Chris took one and I'm sorry that your tribute was missing.
Whilst I was putting the stickers on the pole a gang of guys leaving the circuit stopped and all agreed what a great rider and nice guy that Nicky had been, you really do meet the greatest people on Ducati's.
RIP Nicky the paddock misses you.

No he was not. He wasn't done being a great person either. If I remember correctly, everyone got along with him.
A person of good character from where I sit. I used to joke about taking my four daughters to the Island Moto GP to see if I could snag him as a son in law. ;D Nicky just seemed like an upstanding, well raised, fine young man.
RIP 🇺🇸
