Title: I'm ditching Photobucket. What to use instead?

I'm not paying to be able to post pics here and on other forums. So all I can do is start using something else.

I just gave Flickr a shot but could not get it to do anything other than post a link (all on mobile). The pic would never display. 

Any suggestions?

I don't like Flickr mobile. Imgur works but it's a bit of a different format. It's not so much a place to store your pics as it is a "hey look at this, world" sharing sort of thing.

I'm looking into Google photos...

I can't figure out how to do it from mobile either.....but then I never knew how with p bucket or anything else. Easier to do it from the desktop [coffee]

PB was cake with the app. I never saw an ad once.

I also never *ever* went there on a PC. They hung around VS too long. Ad-pocalypse.

I liked the PB mobile app also. Very easy to take a shot or vid with the phone, upload it to PB and copy link to DMF!

I haven't found anything yet that compares to how user friendly the pee bucket app was. There's gotta be some big brained dudes out there that are gonna come up with a better option.

I put my photo on facebook, post it here. You can hide the photo or video from view on facebook if you just want to show it here.

Works for me.

How to download the photos from the photobucket.

1. Find the album you want to download by first navigating to the Library.
2.Select the Album you wish to download.
3.Look in the lower right corner of the page for "Album Action" and find the link to Download Album.
4.Validate that you are a human by sliding the arrow.

I've been using Imgur for a few weeks now, seems to work well from my desktop.  I don't do mobile.  It is geared to the 'hey, look at me' crowd, but you can haul arse and bypass all that pretty easily.  Lightyears faster than PissBucket with no ads.

Was just on PB desktop site and tried to down load whole albums.

Nothing happens.  It just says, "hmm, something went wrong.  Try again?"

No, one by one.  I opened up an album listed under the "library" area and went to download album.

I clicked the capcha thing to prove i was a human, the down load button lit up, I click, then I get the error.

So far I have had this result with FireFox and Chrome running under Win7 and Chrome under Linux Mint 18.1

I will add that I was able to dl a single photo, so all isn't total lost.

Tried again to download an album and couldn't.  I emailed in to photobucket and this is what they sent back -

   

Photobucket Team (Photobucket Support)

Jul 25, 10:11 AM MDT

Hello,

Thank you for emailing us. There is a known issue with the album download feature and our team is currently looking into it.

In the meantime, you can still download your images with the following steps:

    Step 1. Login to your Photobucket Account

    Step 2. Navigate to your library page

    Step 3. View a photo and click the download button

    Step 4. The picture will be saved to your computer

Anyone find a good solution for posting from a mobile device yet? I have all my pictures saved elsewhere, so I don't need to move anything from Photomake the beast with two backset.

I use flickr from a lappy or desktop.
I'd be a lot happier with it if they stopped dicking around with the look and layout and procedures every year.

I tried to use it on my android phone, but it won't work here (or I can't make it work).

Click on the image you would like to post here,

Click on “share photo”, which is located lower right corner.

Click on “BBcode” and copy it, then, select size.

Come back to the forum, paste what you just copied.


Delete the part before img]  and after [/img

Then, post it.

That was my experience with Flickr mobile as well. Not that user friendly.

... as if posting photos wasn't demanding enough already  :(   I'm not using my phone for this, but it might be the same procedure on a pc.

From all the old "help" forum posts on flickr I see no chance to share anything other than cold links (back to flickr). Charge me $10/year, but 'sharing' my photos on a forum with just a link isn't really helpful to other members.

Does anyone get a BBcode on their flickr? (as in the video)

Change your "viewing privacy" setting to "public".
You set it to "private". That's why you are not seeing sharing feature.

Go to the link you just posted.

Look at the lower right corner of black back ground.
You should see four icons.

Move the cursor over the "share photo" icon which is 2nd from the left, right next to the ☆.

You should see BB code there.

On my pc I click on the share 'arrow' and get a box with two options - one 'share' and one 'email' plus the FB, twitter a.s.o. - no BBcode. I tried Firefox as well as my usual IE.

Ha - the BBcode shows when I access my picture through 'photostream' instead of album/camera roll.

Not on their mobile app, that's where pb had them beat. The Flickr app layout is beautiful, but totally useless on a mobile device.

Just wondering .... is Photobucket getting nervous ..? I get mail offers from them every day now, more or less.

I get these emails too. Unless they drop the price to free and include an apology letter they are dead to me.
