The governments should be prepared to pay for the R&D required to advance battery tech far beyond what it is today, and also subsidize its implementation. I for one just don't see freight hauling electric semi tractor trailers until at least 2060. Dontcha just love policymakers who don't know shit about the real world
The UK is a pretty small country, smaller than Oregon, with a well developed rail network. It could work.
