Aprilia! Impressive!
Come on Dovi!
Jack's going well with his bung leg.
Rossi and Lorenzo appear to be struggling.
I keep saying it, but the Island race should be early in the season.
Rossi' leg would still be pretty bunged up too I imagine!
As for Jorge, well, there's always next year??
As for me, no bike riding for 6 weeks! 😩😩
Cold and rainy 🌧 as FP3 gets ready to go.
Several riders went down in practice. Lorenzo shot off the track and through the wet grass like shit through a goose, then he went into the wet gravel and tumbled like 10 times. He was gimping pretty bad.

Volatile Spring weather at the Island will not help Jorge's confidence. Let it be wet or dry.
Moto2 riders are hitting the deck all around the track. 22 crashes so far this weekend.
Just another treacherous day of racing at the island!

Zarco come a gutsa'.
Is that an Aussie wild card leading Moto 3 qualy? It wasn't James Martin it was Jorges Martin ;D
I thought I was losing it for a minute. I had to pull up a map of the world. :D
Was full of hope when I saw J. Martin on pole, then hope dashed. I mean, as beautiful as they are, I know the Spanish and Italian national anthems quite well now.
:D
They were just talking about Michelin being in for 5 more years.
C'mon Jackass [beer]

Was that into Honda corner? (End of Stoner curve).

Not sure, I’d need to see a replay.
Asparagus #1 is 1st and #2 is in 3rd [thumbsup]
The factory Yamahas and Ducatis appear to be struggling with this intermediate weather.
As I posted your boy popped into 6th.
MM, Zarco, Crazy Joe in top three. What could possibly go wrong?
Late charge by Dovi to 6th.
Q1. Lets see what Rossi and Jorge can do.
Rossi into Q2 with Smith.
Lorenzo struggling with Baz, Monkey, Barberra and Redding.

The Island used to be a Ducati track.
Dovi crashed losing the front coming over Lukey Heights down into MG Corner during FP4, messing up his qualifying momentum. That front tyre was smoking. Any lack of confidence in front end feel or grip makes MG Corner a heart in mouth experience as it's daunting at the best of times. They have some work to do.
Nooooooooo!

The Ducs are not going well at PI
Other than Stoner, no one has gone well on the Duc.
Jack was shot of a cannon at the start and Dovi went from 11 to 20. Zarco almost took MM out, and we’re only on the second lap. [popcorn]
Another exciting race.
MM has his hands on the title.
Disaster for Dovi
Jack did well.
The battle for second had Zarco, Crazy Joe and Rossi trading paint. Rossi did well to survive those two nut cases.
Scuffed fairings and tyre marks on leathers. [evil]
:o That battle for second was simply fantastic. I thought for sure Zarco and Rossi were gonna take each other out. My boy ran a great race. Dovi has been living large, but that should pretty much end his chances.
Yep Dovi is done!
MM's to lose now!
Mav did well. Kept his composure after getting roughed up. A cool customer for sure. It looked like Moto 3 there for awhile. :D
I’ll try to rewatch it tomorrow. Had a long morning and was falling asleep throughout. I gave up and just fast forwarded till the end.
Dovi’s dream of a title this year was destroyed on that first lap.
I thought last weeks race was good, this week it was fantastic. I was pulling for Dovi, but didn't happen.
Was there complete start-to-finish video of Zarco driving around the outside of Mav in Doohan?
That whole race was madness by MotoGP standards.
I'm sure Mav and Rossi were really happy to have Zarco and Iannone all over them like cheap suits!
Barring freak occurrences befalling Marquez, Dovi's come up short.
It was an awesome pass.
I can’t find a good clip of that pass, but part of it’s in here.
https://youtu.be/2NsWezH1UzE
Not a bad angle to see Zarcos move around Mav during the race coverage, but it was quick!
Interviews with Jackass, Rossi, Zarco and MM showed how good a time they had rubbing fairings and touching tyres on leathers. Jack was reportedly beaming when he said it was like Moto 3. Rossi said the aggression was part of it and if you dont like it then stay home. They had a ball.
Good thing You'reghey wasn't involved.
He'd be on his way to the safety commission. [roll]
^No shit, right? ;D
Rossi was not super happy about it either...

Rossi was not super happy about it either...
I dunno...he seemed OK in the post race press conference in OZ, and the pre race in Malaysia.
Rossi was joking about it, I thought. He said you have to be "more stupid than them to race them" and I took it that he was horsing around and was referring to himself. The only rider he has recently found questionable was Zarco iirc, but Rossi appeared to be accepting of and relishing the " youthful aggression" as he put it and he gave it straight back to them. Rossi really enjoyed himself and was very enthusiastic on the podium. The guy loves his work.
Gotta say, Iannone copped some of his own medicine when he got pregnant dog slapped out of contention.
Jack had a ball and did well until his leg tired. At one stage the two riders with busted legs were leading.
All of the riders in the pre race conference said that the layout at PI lent itself to more contact. They also said that none of the contact was particularly dangerous.
I don't think they'll tolerate it if it's out of control. I don't think race direction will either.
Yeah, it's a really flowing track with alot of momentum from one corner to another with plenty of room in places for move and counter move. The tight spots are Honda and MG corners but there's acres of room otherwise and it's easy to lose your way by losing your reference points. I've only raced there once and found it both exciting and terrifying.
The past few years PI has been the "it" race.
Yeah its a real riders track and was the fastest track until recently. Mugello and Catalanya have longer straights but the Island has very fast corners like Stoner Corner which is really a straight with a bend in it.
