I have hardly any snow in Meadville, 40 miles south of Erie.
However, my shop in Girard is 15 miles west of Erie and has been just pounded with snow. 60"+ in the last two days with another 12-24" possible by this time tomorrow night.
Many businesses are shut down because people are unable to leave their neighborhoods to go to work. I was down two guys today and a third left early just in case.
I've lived here most all my life so I'm used to snow. I haven't ever seen it dump like this before.
Looking at the man door we use to get into our building

I don't disagree. Both boats, and motorcycles are much better buys, and even those are limited in season.

Hahaha..... I work with some guys who start talking about their sleds in August. Every two years, someone needs a brand new one. Skidoo vs. Artic Cat vs. whatever..... Worse than the chevy vs. ford thing..
Seems like they only get up north to ride once or twice a year.
Record snow falls and low temps. Wow.

I had to go all the way to Lake Tahoe to see snow for the first yime.
It's a balmy -4 F here right now with -23 windchills. It might make it to 0.
One part of the country is on fire and the other frozen. :-\
That’s indeed stacks of snow!
All bets are off until Lake Erie is frozen over. I’m northeast of Youngstown and we only got a few inches. Our plow crews are all hands on deck up in Ashtabula county since they keep getting pounded with lake effect.
Stay safe up there...hopefully you have a snowblower.

Fun can't be had in temps like this.
-27F is the coldest I've ever seen here but I think that's a rare thing. Single digits is normally as cold as it goes.
Trap sounds fun. Never got my hands on a shot gun before.
Not that much snow, but hasn't cracked 0 here in a week.

I got a new to me snowblower this year, and I'm trying to get used to it. It's very different from the tracked one I had. It steers harder. The tracked model was trigger steer. I get the make the beast with two backsits right around the beginning of March. It won't be around long, and if we can drive through it no harm, no foul.
Got warm, and rained all day yesterday.

What is it with human beings and snow? Used to live in Rochester NY....started snowing 24/7 in mid-October and didn't stop until April. It was unbelievable...but everyone tolerated it because "the summers (2-months long) are great"...Used to live in Mobile, AL - coldest it ever got in winter was mid-30s at night in December, up to 60 during the day and warmed through Jan and Feb...played a lot of golf, even though the grass was 'brown'.
Point is - I never realized the physiological toll the cold winter takes on a person's body -- not spending a few winters in the 'deep freeze' while living in AL were very revealing. Screw all the macho talk....I'll be heading south as soon as I can retire....maybe even sooner

varies
I've seen the occasional 2 or 3 feet but normal winter storms tend to be just a few inches to maybe a foot

A little windy here Down East,.....but not really a big deal yet.
A strong coastal storm will develop south of New England and
move into the Gulf of Maine Wednesday evening into Thursday.
Snow is expected to spread north across the region during the
afternoon and evening Wednesday. There is some potential for the
snow to mix with rain at the coast as precipitation begins on
Wednesday. Snow will become heavy Wednesday evening and overnight
with dangerous travel conditions expected. The storm will weaken
and drift west Thursday, but snowfall may linger, especially in
the mountains, until Friday. There is high confidence that a large
portion of the forecast area will see 10 or more inches of
snowfall, with the highest totals near 20 inches.
Yay [roll]
Are you in the middle of the 20" zone?

Sorry about your weather. We'd gladly take it out in this direction if that were possible.
Love it! [thumbsup]
And a second to Stella’s comment. Send it this way!
I lack a fan of sufficient size to push it west
We always get snow in March...no biggie.
Like he says, it won't be around long. It just adds to the amount of mud, and is always unwelcome at the end of winter.
It will help out the ski areas for a while...depending on how warm it gets.
We got just a dusting.
The hillrat was right.
Our ski areas had to shut down two weeks ago since it was in the 70s for several days. We're back to freezing temps and light snow this week. Back to 50s & 60s next week. Spring in the mountains... Can't even rule out a heavy April snow either.
JM
Not a whole lot on the ground at the moment but we're at 170" for the season so far. I'm sure the there'll be even more before it's over.
Pretty much a non event here. No wind. 8 inches at work, 12 inches in the driveway at home, most people stayed home for the main event.
THANK YOU!!!

Low 50's in the house. Brrr.
There's snow in the forecast tonight again...

We're looking at a foot max.
I've seen forecasts for the coast that are looking like 2 feet.

That's a lot of snow to manage, even if you're used to snow.

I stop this time of year also...for a few inches.
Feet still need to be dealt with. :-\
Yeah. Unfortunately I must agree.

The best part is that it was 47 degrees all day! So the last layer of snow is nice and mushy, and the dirt driveway is WAY soft.... [thumbsdown]

Snowed last night...about an inch.
Just a little more liquid, when it melts, to add to the mud. [thumbsup]

My driveway is paved but we also park on the other side of the house.
Before I put stone down there, I've gotten stuck :P
My driveway is dirt, and flat. The the snow will turn it to mud as soon as it melts.
The only positive is that the ground is thawed, so should drain & dry quickly...
Our road is dirt. The plows killed it this year. I need to buy some sort of tractor attachment and level it out.
More snow today.
It can stop anytime.

It wasn't the plows...
it was Ma Nature.
Winter killed your road. ;)
The town will fix it.
The town won't fix it. We own it.
I cut my grass today.
IT'S SNOWING!!!
A good wet snow! [thumbsup]
