I don't even have the bike yet (2018 Monster 821) and I already looking to get rid of the f-ugly exhaust that comes with the 2018 Monster 821. I guess it's so big and ugly because they incorporated the catalytic converter or the anti pollution crap into the structure of the exhaust down stream as compared with the ugly bladder cat that cam with my S4R.
Anyways I gotta replace them and I kinda like the MIVV or the Termignoni for both style and sound. Then I'm wondering if the ECU is gonna have to be remapped as well. any thing else I will have to do after the exhaust is changed? Airbox etc?

The cat itself is probably a greater restriction than the muffler so I would say yes. Good to tune it for smooth, optimum performance anyway hey.
Check out sponsors Motowheels and Monsterparts for tuning options.
:o slipons for these bikes cost more than full systems for previous generations

I bought slip-on Termignoni for my 2004 S4R an they weren't any bargain either :(
Go Arrow.
2015, 821, stock ECU, and I have been running a slip on for about a year and it will occasionally kick the check engine light on when it sits warming up or in hot traffic for a long period.
I finally bit the bullet and bought a RapidBike to try and eliminate the check engine and smooth out the bike. It also provides the opportunity to add a quick shifter in the future. I know the 2018’s can add a quick shifter option, but I’m unsure if it can be added to older models.
No noticeable difference in performance, just looks and sound.

Done, thanks.
The more you sweat in practice, the less you will bleed in battle.
Thank you.
