Title: Ride Report Scrambler 1100
Post by: Wayne-o on May 05, 2018, 01:24:50 PM
To All,

Here's my evaluation of the Ducati Scrambler 1100. The Ducati Scrambler is a more mature refined Ducati S4R. It delivered every thrill that my S4R does but in a much more sophisticated way.

It's everything I expected. I love this bike!!

I will ride my 'S4R' When I need a hooligan fix [evil]

Suspension good?

Seems to be for me. I bought the STD not the Sport that has Olin's suspension. When I bring it in for the first service I will have the Tech set the bike up for me. Forks are adjustable.

So how would you describe the engine character?

I rode it today for 90 miles in Journey mode and had plenty of spunk once off the line. Was very controllable on the start and easy to handle. I didn't push too much because of break-in but I feel the potential is there to mirror my '04' S4R with a bit less grunt. None the less.......very enjoyable!

When I got on the bike my first words were............."OMG it's a big dirt bike". Upright position. Very comfortable between peg and seat. (I'm 5'9").

Gas milage for the time being is double what my monster got. 100 vs 180miles/tank.

Have you ridden any 1100 before?
If so, differences?

No, Only the Scrambler. I never road tested the bike before I bought it. I read extensively about it so I felt as though I had a pretty good feel for what the bike would be like. My only reference is my '04' S4R that I still own. My 04 S4R is set up with the race ECU and open airbox.

So far I love the bike. Seat could be a little bit more comfy though. It gets a lot of public interest when I'm out riding.

I have 1000 miles on it now.
