Title: 696 Stock Mirror Positioning
Post by: Raux on July 22, 2008, 06:23:52 PM
OK, i've been thinking about this...

where have you guys been placing your stock 696 mirrors? Forward, swept, or like horns  [evil]?

I've been trying them forward so the back planes are parallel to each other. I have greater field of vision sideways but little behind me.

I originally had one slightly swept and one a little less (left) and noticed I could have good field of vision on the left with a little more rear vision on the right.

I want to try both swept and see if I can feel more comfortable about the trucks (oklahoma only has trucks) behind me, but afraid to lose too much side views. Although turning my head gives me good field of view for that.

I won't change the mirrors, cause unlike a lot of you, I like the stock mirrors.

So, give me some feedback.

You may still want to think about it, I leaned on mine getting of the bike and broke my left one.  I got em warranteed but, now they are back up to the bar ends I got.  I did like the field of view on the stock.  I had em as they were in the stock pics online at Ducati.com.

I still haven't gotten mine to be any use... i've got to get them tilted forward... or replace them... i need to be able to see something/anything behind me without turning my head all the way around. (this is not a good idea in LA traffic)

I'm going to try pulling my back more and see if i can get a more wrap effect on the field of view.
