I have had nothing but problems with my Sargent seat. Sargent's customer service keeps giving me ideas and things to try to fix it. Bottom line is that the locking pin is just a little too short. I have shimmed it up but only a few rides will tell if that is the permanent fix or not. Attached is the video of the struggles I've had with the seat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSrzf4cdsZc&t=4s
Try shimming up the latch itself.
I had to do that with my Corbin seat, and it worked great. The earlier bikes had a slightly different arrangement for the pin, so shimming it wasn't an option.
Yes, shimming under the latch, between it and the frame.
Good idea gentlemen, I will give that a try and report back!
I had to shim the latch on my S2R1000 with the DP gel seat. The pin was too short, but it was permanently attached to the seat so the only option was to shim the latch itself.
Shimmed up the latch and it absolutely worked like a champ! Went for a ride after I shimmed it and the seat actually stayed in place! Thanks for the help!!!
I put 400 miles on it today and it was BLISS, granted it was a multi
add washers, I did that on my S4
