Bought a 2005 Monster 620 Dark (fuel injected) about a month ago (3,000 miles on it) and initially it would idle around 1100 rpms or so when warm, and with the "choke" off.
Now (4, 800 miles) the RPM's have dropped to around 500-600 when warm. I have searched this site for information and decided after reading every post I could find to check the plugs. They seemed OK but I changed them anyway. Warmed up the bike, pushed the "choke" off, same thing.
All in all, the bike runs good, nothing unusual other than the low idle rpm. It doesn't stall (unless it's my fault, damn steep hills! who put a stop sign there, anyway?)
Has anyone else had this happen to them and more importantly, how was it remedied?
Thanks,
???
Matt?
starting off the "choke " is really just a high idle. The lever opens up your throttle just as if you were turning the throttle.
If the bike is idling that poorly and plugs did nothing for it something is probably set wrong with the fuel injection. have either the dealer or a competent shop set the fuel injection up for you.
Also make sure there is nothing dragging on the motor, I have seen aftermarket cam end caps that added so much drag to the motor the bike would die at idle.
