Round 1.
So excited.
I know it's a bit early, but do you want to add spoiler to your title, or have someone start another thread? :P

That depends on what you like.
He doesn't miss
anything, but doesn't add enough commentary, for my taste. Just a bunch of links, or videos, with no comment.
I think it's that friggen ipad he's always using. ;D

Mixed feelings about this year. Not sure if the Bologna boys will have what it takes to beat MM. The bike obviously has improved, but I don't want to get my hopes up.
The constructors championship is looking promising at least. The prospect of more than one Ducati on the podium each race looks more likely on preseason form. But as you say, beating MM is another thing. There is the possibility of Ducati riders stealing points from each other too, but Lorenzo may do that to MM on occasion, although it's less likely. Season holds a few questions for sure.
Did I say I was excited? ;D
Apparently there are several rule changes this season. Helmets are no longer required and they’ve been practicing on a new road course.

We had it good for awhile there [laugh]
It’s gonna be a good season. I wish there were more night races on the circuit. MM and JLo aren’t quite 100% yet. Although I think Marc could win a race with one arm. I’m pulling for the #9 this season in the Duc garage.

Fixed it. ;)
Petrux has this one season to produce, or there are two waiting in line behind him. No results, and Ducati will kick him to the curb in favor of Jack, or Pecco.
I believe Danilo can do it, now that Dovi taught him how to save the tire. He needs to finish in the top 5 every race, and consistently beat Jack, or I'm afraid he'll be in SBK with Alvaro.

There’s really only 1 person that can beat Marc, and it’s himself. ;)
I swear some of the new bits on the Duc, if they were fashioned in raw metal, look like they came from old Road Racing.

Anyone else having issues with motogp. com?
is anyone else having trouble streaming today? I cannot get the website or the Aps to work!
Unrelated: is anyone else grossed out that Crutchlow doesn't wear anything under his leathers? Every time he goes into the pit box and unzips I cannot help but to think that that dude must have the funk.

I wonder if the rules are explicit regarding aeros attached to the fairing.
QuoteMotorsport.com understands the technical delegates were already aware of the devices, but could not launch an investigation until a formal complaint had been submitted.
I'm calling bullshit. The aero's could have been disputed before the race. They were there for everyone to see.

That’s because Dovi was setting the pace and no one was in a hurry to test the longevity of the Michelins. I think the walking wounded, like Cal and MM, appreciated the sedate pace. The Yamahas also preferred it since they still don’t know if their tire gremlins have been exorcised
Rins was looking racy.
Rookies did pretty good, other than Q's warmup bobble (but geez even then he was within a second of arguing with Zarco over the first point!)
Dunno why Danilo looked so down, maybe the bike is tiring him out.
Ducati put a tire cooling device on.
Honda's had a brake cooling device on since mid last year IIRC.
Dovi handled MM again on the last-corner challenge.
And it's at 4/1 now, or 5/1?
That's gotta burn MM's cookies.
It'd be interesting to watch them all and see how Dovi pulled it off.
How in the world did Iannone drop his bike on the cool off lap?
Quartararo set the fastest lap during the race. He might be mixing it up with the big boys during the season.
Yes, if Q can get over the yips, he'll be fine! [popcorn]
Apparently Danilo gambled on soft/soft, but the track temp didn't drop and I suspect he burned em up.

Appears the paint gave way and seat foam dislodged with it.
What do you reckon DP ?
That foam had a firm board backer. I think it had some sort of clip that failed.
Miller recounted: "The seat is glued on to the subframe, and the subframe being painted, the paint didn’t stick well enough, and the glue ripped the seat and the paint off.“
I had only heard his initial comment where he talked about it coming loose, and the 'it clipped back in'.
Considering that the paint on the subframe could possibly be only days old it's easy to understand how the solvents in the glue could ruin the bond between the paint and the carbon.
I guess they'll take the paint off and glue it direct to the carbon from now on....or maybe they should get out some zip ties. :P

No reaction from the rest of the field as they had to avoid a flying seat (on the racing line)?

Too many rules...

If you’re not cheating you’re not trying, and if you get caught, you’re not trying hard enough. ;)

Suzuki used a "winged keel" to deflect water away from the rear tyre so Chris V could win, but protest against Ducatis similar mod which deflected air onto the tyre for cooling. Both mods were to assist rear tyre grip rather than for aerodynamics per se. Ducati also followed correct process presenting the mod to the tech director which was approved. Makes me love Ducati and root against the big factories even more. Hypocrites.
