I'm in the process of changing out my S2R triple clamps for a Speedymoto set that includes new bearings and races.
I've been looking around for tools to press the new races into the headstock and the lower bearing onto the new stem. There's a handful of choices of varying sizes and prices and before I buy the wrong size and have to send them back as none seem Ducati specific I thought I would see what others might have used.
I used a drift pin to push the old races out so I'm all set there and I've got the mm size of the new stuff going in but I'd rather not chance buying tools of not the correct diameter and have to send them back and prolong things.
So if anyone has suggestions of tools they got to do the job that worked with minimum pain I would appreciate your words of experience!!
Try Monsterparts for a head stem bearing tool I spotted the other day iirc. HDSEA have Ducati specific tools, also worth a call

I looked at the Motion Pro, Tusk, Park Tools etc and ended up with a Powersports race installer for it's number of different size bushings it comes with and the Ducati bearing driver.

Right, it isn't technically difficult my concern was buying the right tools the first time :)
When I did mine yr before last I just went to lowe's and bought threaded rod, washers & nuts to press the races in the headstock. To set the lower bearing on stem I used a section of gas pipe that suited the diameter of the bearing & long enough to clear the stem. I already had a mallet. ;D
Yeah I thought about making my own tools to do it they'd be easy enough to put together but between my adversion for tools and the number of bikes in the stable I just bought what I needed.

I installed a triple on my 1198. I have the park tool, does not fit and should be in the bicycle section. Tried the home made threaded rod and flat washer tool, it wasn’t strong enough to pull the races in their seats and the washers just bent. I just ended up using the old race as an anvil and pounded the new race in with a steel hammer, mallet will not work. Pound the race in until you hear the tone change which is when it is bottomed out...
I used the powersports race tool worked like a charm and the job is done.
