Title: water pump covers - attn Speeddog, et al
Post by: booger on August 19, 2019, 11:08:21 AM
Are the water pump covers for liquid cooled Ducs all the same? That is to say would a 996 water pump cover fit a 998 Testastretta engine? Were there any differences in this piece? I was under the impression there were no differences. Thanks

"Does not fit the .... " sounds familiar, but I don't know the specifics.

There are several different configurations of water pump covers.

The first two are definitely not compatible:

749/998/999/ST3/S4Rt/S4Rs -  24721662A

'99-02 748/996/St2/ST4/S4 - 24711141AB

'94-'99 748/916 - 24710671BA

851/907ie -  24710091A

Well dang. I guess I just can’t ascertain the difference by looking at them. They both appear to be shaped identically, same 5-hole pattern, etc. Anybody know specifically how they’re different?

IIRC, it's the shape of the inside , rotor is different.
