Title: Throttle housing replacement carby
Post by: tbyte on September 13, 2019, 12:42:22 PM
My throttle tube was sliding around clipon and I could not tighten it.  One screw of old housing had an insert on it and the other Loctite? so no luck.  Can I swap in new(er) housing by backing out the barrel adjusters out of old without disconnecting cables?  I was hoping for an easy install.  Also, To loosen cables fully the adjuster barrels are screwed all the way into housing and into/towards carb?  I have taken the carb off several times but throttle has been too tight since first time.

Huh, I already cracked the old one screwing adjuster in.  Must be more careful.

Throttle disassembly is required. The metal is soft and threads do fail. Consider some tape under the housing so the bolts don't have to be so tight. Playing with the adjustment between both cables may give some margin.
