I've recently had cause to go to a hospital thinking I had a serious problem.
Luckily the problem I thought I had was not the case. I still feel like shit.
I have acid reflux/GERD. It's make the beast with two backsing killing me...seriously. I can't sleep, even with a wedge pillow, I can't eat without consequences.
I'm on a med protocol that isn't working. I called my PCP today, but they didn't get back to me. I will follow up with someone.
I never thought I'd die from heartburn...( more likely the consequences of heartburn like esophageal cancer) maybe crash and burn.
How will you die?
I’m guessing I’ll stop breathing. ;) Here’s a list of quizzes

I heard we all die of lack of oxygen to the brain. That's the universal reason, strictly speaking.
What's going to lead me there ... ? Don't know yet.

I just did one of those tests.
I died in 2007. :-*
I’ve always enjoyed good health. Never had any heart burn or aches and pains etc but I thought I was gonna die a couple times now. Once in a hotel room when I woke up and couldn’t breathe
It was sickening I was alone in a strange town.
I woke up in a state of total panic went into the bathroom and splashed water on my face.
After that I just laid down to die😃
Seriously there was nothing I could do
After a few terrifying moments the air began flowing again and I went to sleep.
Sorry you’re going through this stuff
I wanna go out like one of my dogs did. Healthy, healthy, healthy. Dead.
I've enjoyed good health in my adult years. I'm no spring chicken...some of you kids would consider me old. I don't.
Most people guess I'm at least 10 years younger than I am.
I guess I'm just surprised that something as innocuous as heartburn/acid reflux can make the beast with two backs you up, and create a serious health issue...serious enough to lead to death.
I did one of the quiz's. Says I'll die in 2039. My first thought was make the beast with two backs, another 20 years :P
Given my family history, cancer.
So, slow and obscene.
Hope you recover soon.
My wife has that as well ..along with her meds ( Pantoprazole ) she has Throat Dilation done every 2 years
And make sure you see a Gastro Enterologist
Bad habits or
Dangerous hobbies or
at the hands of an idiot
Possibly leaving the seat up one too many times
I know I'll die if I ever make it to the end of Emerson Lake and Palmer's Fanfare For The Common Man before turning it off. I had a dream where I died the very second the song ends.
Sorry to hear Nate. Listen to Ute. Acid reflux can gradually kill you while damaging your esophagus and teeth as well as making your life generally miserable..
Anyway, to answer your question most likely pulmonary failure
Heart attack or pneumonia which aint too bad (bargain really) if at the right time.
My life is going to be the death of me.
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!†HST.
Hard to say, but I hope it's a long way out.... :-\
I get the occasional bout of reflux, but it's usually not bad. It typically goes hand in hand with too many beers and eating too late. However, I had a bout late last Friday night in my sleep (after too many beers and eating too late), it felt like i literally had a fire burning in my gut and my throat was the chimney. It took three Tums, a Prilosec, a glass of milk and sitting upright for the better part of an hour to quench it. Kind of freaked me out.....
I had GERD for a number of years while I was still married to my ex wife. It was pretty bad. Medication. Dietary changes etc. It felt like there was a handful of coals in there that someone was superheating by blowing on them with the air hose.
The week she moved out it quit. It just stopped. I only have issues now if I just plain abuse my stomach.
I'm not saying that this is *your* problem. Just that I can sympathize.
But, to answer the question I know for sure I won't die on a motorcycle. I'm not saying I'll never get hurt on one, just that I won't die because of riding.
I lean more toward an unfortunate intersection of my face and a rogue #10 can of beans that has drastically strayed off course.
But that's just a guess.
Interestingly enough...I was working at the track today. There was a motorcycle event.
A guy died...not because he crashed...he crashed because he died.
It was a bit unsettling as I was on scene as the paramedics were working on him. He looked like a ghost...never felt a thing.
The only positive I can find is the guy died while he was doing what he loved.
Carry on. I'm getting drunk.
There are worse ways to go. Sorry you had to see all that.
Local rider reportedly lost his license plate while riding Highway 33.
He went out Sunday on his bike to look for it.
The helicopter crew found him on Monday.
No info on whether he found the plate or not.
I don't think he cares anymore.
My inappropriate sense of humor will be involved, but how exactly... That I don't know.
Reasonably healthy, just got a lot of genetic stuff lingering from my ancestors... Hard to say.
I'm going to answer for everyone....
Inadequate perfusion.... Gets everyone in the end.
Ugh, so sorry to see that you're dealing with all that, Nate.
Having been sleep deprived for a while (6 months+), I can sympathize with the effects of that.
With the amount of driving I do in all kinds of weather, traffic, terrain and conditions â€" there's a good chance my demise will be behind the wheel. ON 2-wheels with a sudden fatal onset of whatever issue similar to the guy on the moto would be my preferred way.
Three times in my life I thought it was my time.
â€" One was health related (Randimus witnessed that in Peru â€" I thought I was having a stroke)
â€" At the hands of an unknown to me at the time murderer (he killed two other friends)
â€" On a 4-passenger turbo plane that had an engine explode and the wing was fully engulfed. The co-pilot told my two colleagues and I, "it looks like we're going to crash."
Health issues: push hard for answers and asking about what you don't know and then verify with a second or 3rd opinion. No one else will be your best champion other than yourself.
I think I'll have a tasty beverage tonight.
You're all appreciated. [beer]
