Title: front sprocket problems
Post by: refupete on January 06, 2020, 02:21:45 AM
I'm Having quite a lot of trouble getting my front sprocket off to replace. I took it to my mechanic and even he couldn't get it off, he tried everything and still it wouldn't budge. Has anyone had a similar problem and been able to solve it.
Any help would be great thanks.

It's an m695 by the way

Di you have the retaining plate with the two small allens or the big nut with the locking tab?

The torque spec on that nut is 186Nm, pretty tight.  Big wrench, bike in first gear.  If the wheel is on the ground an assistant on the bike applying the brakes so the rear wheel does not turn.  Alternative method:  Rattle gun.  I use the alternative method.  Nut goes back on with grease

Ah...  Something like this in an appropriate size so you don't hurt the output shaft or bearing.
