Title: 748-916... speedo with an S2R front wheel?
Post by: stopintime on March 27, 2020, 04:36:09 PM
748 with it's mechanical speedo and an S2R wheel  ???

All charts says that S2R and 748/916 can use the same front wheel. The axle is the same. The S2R has a spacer on the left side / the 748 a spedo drive.

Will the 748 have a working speedo with an S2R wheel?

...seems like there is a different left side wheel bearing, including contact points/'teeth' catching the actual speedo drive. And a hole in the 748 axle to catch the speedo drive / keep it from spinning.

Move the left side 748 bearing to the S2R wheel?

Same bearing-to-bearing spacer? (to secure a total length fit)

There's a seal and tab ring necessary to transfer over to the S2R wheel then everything will be fine.

No bearing swapping, no axle swapping
