Hi all
I was looking over my bike (07 S2R 1K) today after a winter in the garage and noticed a drop of oil at the floor from one of the front forks.
The leg was dry but it was another drop hanging at the bottom of it.
can anybody of you great people advise me on what I'm looking for to correct this?
Sometimes they'll develop a tiny drip from sitting, and will self correct when they're back in service.
It can also be a very small piece of debris on the seal lip. I've had occasional success popping the dust boot loose, and working a business card between the seal lip and the tube, working it around the circumference of the tube. Work quickly, as some oil will leak out.
Sometimes, the seal is done, and it needs replacing. Good time to change oil, in both legs, and change springs if the fork doesn't suit you.
If the inner tube/slider is dry..... maybe a leak around the compression screw?
Worth a look [thumbsup]

Maybe it’s coming from the compression screw, if so, what can I do about that?
Thanks for your advice guys, ducpainer was on the money, did a simple test where i did a couple of compression strokes and its now obvious that he was right(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200411/0169583aed6e5ae8fbf1a9b3189a05ab.jpg)
The dust seals dont look that great as to be expected after 13 years...
Maybe I need to replace the main seal too.
Can you advise me on what is involved to change those? special tools etc?
