So there's this big 'ol hunk 'o brisket sittin' in my fridge...thanks to DQ's last trip to Austin... and I was thinking of cookin' up some critter [bacon], and watching a ton 'o racing action on Sunday. [beer] [wine] [drink] [coffee] [popcorn]
I just finished downloading a few of the recent races from Eurosport:
Laguna GP
WSBK 1&2 @ Brno
WSS 1 @ Brno
WSBK 1&2 @ MMP, Utah
Now, I have to run this by the household higher approval board (see also: Maria) before I can 100% say it's on.
But just so I can get an idea, who'd be interested?
I'd be in, my old lady is out of town for 2 weeks. Still havent seen the race, only the crazy Rossi pass in the gravel on youtube!
I can bring food or beer...
I'd be potentially interested.
I swear, you two share the same brain! [laugh]
assuming i can drive (the meds are still working), i would be up for attending. have seen the brno races (great action, btw), but have not seen laguna, so this will be molto cool.
There's also a good possibility that a member of the Alice-Pramac GP team will be here as well. (It all depends if his gf will relinquish him for a little while. [laugh])
liam is a minchia ... his gf totally controls him, so not much chance he will get a free leash that day [roll]
jk ... i hope he can make the event.
Even though I'll have already seen all said races at least 5 times by Sunday evening, I wouldn't miss your BBQ!
Oh, and Maria's making her peach cobbler too!
Guess I should go get a case of Shiner, just to complete the whole package. [drink]
Still discussing what time with Maria, but we're thinking late afternoon/early evening.
And there's a ton of parking in the garage! [thumbsup]
Oh, did I mention the bottle of Mekong Whiskey my roommate gave me from his trip to Thailand? [drink] ;D

Me love it long time...I'm IN!
4pm-ish. Maria's making the cobbler in the morning, and the brisket should be ready about 5ish.
I'm heading out in a bit to pick up some Shiner and, of course, The National Beer of Texas, Lone Star Beer!
Bring anything you like, too!
PM for directions!!
sorry went dirt biking. [beer]
Thanks for hosting Dan! That roller suit thing was unreal:

Hey DW and Maria: Thanks for the invite. Haven't been on the DMF much these days so missed the thread but appreciated the vm. Really sorry to have missed the [bacon] and the company! Would have loved to come but as it was, the next best thing was that we won our golf game so had to reap the winnings at Joe's Taco in Mill Valley! ;D

Jeebuz, DQ!!! Didn't you just leave here?!!! Damn that was fast!!! [laugh]
Lots of good racing... how about Bayliss doing his best Frogger impersonation?! And there's definitely something to be said for a guy covered in wheels, railing head first down an alpine road!!
Many thanks to everyone that attended. [clap] Good times and good people. Thanks to DQ for bringing back that slab 'o brisket from Austin...MMMM, MMMM!!! And a special thanks goes out to Liam, for making some time to hang out with us "regular" folks... granted, the lure of Thai whiskey is hard to beat! [drink] [thumbsup]
Vindingo, drop me a line some time this week when you're around, and I'll bring your bowl by.
We'll have to do another one of these again soon. But for now, I have dishes to wash. [cheeky]
Thanks again DW and Maria. The food was awesome as was the company
ciao a tutti -
sorry i had "family" stuff to do, otherwise would have stayed at casa dw/m for the food, racing and peeps.
dw: your directions to the d-store were spot on. getting there was a snap. however, getting out of the city was not so much of a snap ... tried to get over to 4th and the 101 on-ramp ... ended up getting stuck in congested street traffic trying to get around some sort of parade/event in the soma area.
a presto,
johnc

I would just like to point out that DQ is referencing the traffic congestion johnc ran into, not my bbq. [laugh]

DW13, thanks for the invite and sorry we couldn't show up. I was sleeping off a hangover all afternoon from the Barf poolparty. I still don't feel 100% today. [puke]
