Last year I picked up a fire damaged 2001 Monster S4. It was an electrical fire that started under the fuel tank near the battery and ECU (Mice had chewed the wiring). Luckily the fuel didn’t ignite and most of the damage was to the seat, air box, wiring, dash and hand controls. The engine is well sooted but appears ok and does turn over.
My question is what sort of damage would be expected internally to the motor?
Probably a stupid question as I have no idea of heat intensity or fire duration!
I’m imagining that it would take quite a bit of heat to damage anything in the vertical head besides gaskets.

What about the rubber grommets of the value seals?
I would view any engine sensors or surviving electronic devices as suspect at best, 12V being applied randomly from a battery and burning harness and all.
Not that it's a particularly appealing thought, but pics would help a lot.
