So as not many know, I live in the NYC area. Now I was coming from Brooklyn and was going to stop at my friend's place in Staten Island before going back into New Jersey. Now while on Clarke Ave (for anyone local reading this) I was turning into my friend's driveway, when a guy on some Japanese bike (couldn't see was in too much awe) with his helmet half off kinda hanging upward was riding with one hand. I noticed something more unusual than his helmet he was talking on his cell phone. I shit you not. NYC has some oddballs, but Staten Island takes the Cream of the Crop when it comes to Guidos, and squids. If anyone can top that tidbit of stupidity I'd like to hear that story.

you havent seen the video of a guy on the highway yet have you?
Staten Island sucks.
i saw something similar once here in dallas.
was going down greenville and saw a guy riding with his full face helmet just on the top of his head so he can smoke a cig.
maybe he was placing a to-go order from the coffee bean

I've seen a cruiser dude riding along with one hand down his pants. I think he was just doing an Al Bundy rather than anything more disturbing.

Well, there is this little 6/7 page thread of squidlyness being discussed http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=7501.0 (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=7501.0) [laugh]
I love the fact that even the coffee cup holder is chromed out [bang]
Maybe you have yet to see the video of the guy texting while riding that has been posted ad nauseum on every motorcycle forum in the last few weeks?

Keep it mounted on the left so it don't block the view of the fishfinder.
If its too left, it gets in the way of his speaker system
I WANT ONE!!!! i swear going for Starbucks is sooo much harder when you can't take it with you... ever try to chug a latte!
I still think the guy riding down the Highway w/ his feet on the controls while he laid back and took in the sites took the cake.
I have seen it. Scooters mainly, but I did see an old guy on a Goldwing on his phone a few years ago.
Now that bluetooth helmets are available you'll see many more people on their phones while riding. You need your full concentration when riding, moreso than in a car, chatting on a damn phone is just asking for trouble whether it is handsfree or not.
I have to admit, at a light more than once when I was running late for work I have shoved my razor in my helmet. Did it so I still had both my hands on the controls, earpiece part squished between my ear and helmet and speaker part near my mouth. As to prevent angry cagers behind me, I talked while riding through city traffic. Smart....not really. Necessary...in my eyes at the time....Yes.
some people like cupholders on their motorcycles....

1st thing that came to my mind .......... nobody can top this, ... shaving while riding ..... heheheheh ;D
I was riding (helmetless) down a side street with my dog on the gas tank of my Duc...
The phone rang... It was "mom"... so I answered it.
The best part, as I was telling mom "I'll call you back in a few...", I rolled past a cop.
You should have seen the look on his face. :o
I smiled at him, and nodded, and rolled on... [moto]
Nothing to see here, move along... ;D
Seen it. Harley dood yaking away at 55 mph. The other thing I see more often than stupid cell phone tricks is smoking while riding.

Too funny...it only took a second for me to figure it out...but the thought of shaving cream did run through my head!
In Italy it's pretty common to stuff your cellphone between your ear and your helmet as a way of calling hands-free. They ride around that way all the time for when (not if) they get called during a ride.
I have yet to see this texting video while riding. Good thing I am at work "working" and not being a post whore today. But I have seen the smoking at a light. I pull over if I hear my phone, and talk then on speakerphone. There are too many people on the roads around NYC, and the roads aren't always the greatest. But this thread has been funny to read. I like the cup-holders, but I think "I'd need a straw". Why not just get a CamelBack?
