Watching dash-cam footage, it is pretty obvious the driver was on the phone / texting / something like that.
Dash-cam : Mobius
Horn(s) : PIAA 85112 (500Hz + 600Hz) and Wolo Bad Boy

I feel for you, but at the same time it's one of those easy-to-avoid situations.

Here too. Standard of driving is terrible.
Wow 😳
I see all this as a race of technology...
The mobile-phone-social-media-notifications-navigation-system-hi-tech-dashboard is advancing to distract us and kill us.
The lane-change-sensors-emergency-braking-system-self-driving-AI is advancing to save us.
So far, I think the former is winning. Maybe my grandkids will live to see the latter win.
Anyway, glad you made it out alive, S21FOLGORE. [thumbsup]
The safety tech is problematic too. If I wasn't paying attention I would have hit a bicycle rider who ran a red light. Twice my car braked for something that wasn't there. Since my car has a manual transmission it stalled. Could have been hit in the rear. Typically blind spot is about 25% off when it comes to bicycles and motorcycles. Some idiots look at the warning instead of the mirror. I turned my lane assist off. Even when these systems work better (and they will) the driver must pay attention. The driver is the only one who has true IZ_ logic.
I do use navigation, I think less distracting than trying to read chicken scratch directions stuck to your dash somewhere. I will pick up a phone call hands free if it might be important. Read a text or send a text? Never!
