Hey there,
I have a pair of Dainese delta pants and some sidi boots....at 5'2" I have to hike the pants up, bunch them above my knees to fit them into my boots. I'm not sure I can reduce the length of the pants more than 1 or 2 inches because of the shin padding...does this mean I need different boots? Different pants? I really don't want to spend more $ on new gear. [bang]
Leather shop suggestions? What did some of the shorter women/men on this board do?
Cheers,
e
If I recall, those are leather? There are a number of custom leather shops in the bay area-try posting up in the MOB-half the local racers have custom/modified leathers....
If nothing else-you can bet those hideous leathers tigre wears were not an off-the-shelf item :P
Like someguy said, a good leather shop should be able to help you. There are some tailors that will work with leather too. I do not blame you for not wanting to buy new gear, it can get pricey. Good luck. :)
Yeah..I have a similar problem. I think I have the torso and arms of a 6ft guy and the legs of a guy about 5ft.
I have bought Cortech and Australian Draggin' Jeans and the protection starts just below my kneecaps and goes almost to my ankles. Great if I was looking for shin protection I suppose. ;D I took the Cortechs to a local tailor and he re-arranged things for $50. Everything fits well and even the removeable knee pads are in the right location now.
The Draggin' Jeans worked out even better. I emailed the maker in Australia and he got my exact measurements and custom-made me 2 pair!! [thumbsup] I can't say enough about this guy. No extra charges and he told me to just return the pairs I had already received to the distributor. How's that for customer service?
I know we aren't talking leather here but for daily town riding I prefer reinforced denim over leather anyways. I'm sure if you find a good tailor who works with leather they can do the same thing for you.
