Great job by Zarco to get the pole and crash to cause a yellow flag!

Because Honda's doesn't work well. [laugh]
They need to some cheese…
Good to see MM back on the top step
I think Disney had a hand in writing that script. [clap]
Well well well. MM said the other day this would be his first race without any restrictions. Shot out of a cannon, and made it look easy. That’s 11yrs in a row at Sachsenring.

I liked his analysis of the race in parc ferme - at the start line, his objective was to stay with the fast guys, shoot for a podium. Then, "When I saw a few drops on the lap four or five, I said ‘it’s my race’." [popcorn]
Top 5 moments from today.

Didn't really have the pace all weekend, but when the drops started to fall the guy took over. When everyone else backed off, he pushed...'It's my race', and won the race on lap...whatever.
He's a master. Nothing scares him. Truly from another planet.
Fierce competitor and just has that edge.
With MM out of the mix there was true parity among the manufacturers. The voices were all saying the Honda was not up to the job. Return of a true Alien MARC MARQUEZ! We now know the bikes are all good. MM is just so good. I liked the racing when he was gone. Now I believe it will be a one man show. Don't get me wrong he is a great racer, I always admired him. All the races from now will be for 2nd place.
I don’t see that happening. He went for it during the drizzle because, well, he had nothing to lose.
Last lap.

That, and the left-turn bias of the Sachsenring track was marginally easier on his still-healing right arm in a way that most other tracks aren't. Not taking anything away from this otherworldly performance, but I think there will be a few more rough patches for MM this year before he's as dominant as before.
Extended highlights.

MM has been off the track for two years, he has the prescence or mind to go for the win because of rain drops. Come on! All of the other riders have faced this scenario as many time as MM. Not good enough.
MM will dominate on a bike the other HRC riders cannot ride. We had Dovi and Jorge before. What is next?
Time will tell.

David Emmet's insights on MM's race (he confidently predicted that Marquez would make it 11 in a row) are pretty telling. I suspect his answer to the question "can he keep winning in 2021?" is in the subscriber-only portion of this article, but the free portion is a fantastic read: https://motomatters.com/analysis/2021/06/22/sachsenring_sunday_motogp_subscriber.html (https://motomatters.com/analysis/2021/06/22/sachsenring_sunday_motogp_subscriber.html)
Great article.
Then, the second flash of the real Marc Márquez came. The summer air had been heavy with moisture, and on lap 8, it started to rain. Light spots, not enough to dampen the track, but enough to rob the surface of grip and dramatically raise the risk of pushing. Just the conditions where Marc Márquez comes into his own, and can be so much faster than everyone else. "I did the perfect first lap and then when I saw some drops I said, okay, it’s my day," Márquez said after the race. "I continued. I pushed and I was riding same as before when it was completely dry without any drops."
I subbed. Nothing I didn't already think.
That said, David is a great writer, and the short money for the sub is worth it.
