Title: Before a DP ECU is installed
Post by: DrNo08 on July 26, 2008, 08:00:40 PM
what is in that spot at stock?  My bike came with the ECU installed so I never got to look under the tank to see what was there while the bike was stock.  Just curious.

Do you mean what was in place of the DP ECU before it was installed? The stock ECU essentially looks the same as the DP version. The stock one is pulled and replaced with the DP version.  ;)

you should have had the stock one given back to you if you buy/have a dealer install the DP ecu. Since the stock one is married to the bike, it does no one any good but you, whether they married the DP unit depends.

I got my bike used with this already installed.  I got the stock pipes and filter but not the stock ECU w/ the purchase.  I looked under the tank at the unit and it's got alot of numbers but it doesn't say "Ducati Performance" or anything confirming its the DP ECU.

This is from an older thread:

Here's a pic of the stock ECU from my S2R:

Here's the DP ECU that came with my Termi upgrade:

The ECUs look identical other than the different serial number stickers.

Thanks so much for posting that.  I checked and my ECU starts with 96+++++++++ too.  Great.  I just wanted to make sure.
