Title: Help removing left side crank case cover
Post by: SCouch on July 27, 2008, 05:00:06 PM
I'm having a hard time removing this cover.  Got a steering wheel puller to pull the cover, got the front of the cover to work loose, but the rear won't come off.  I tightened the puller as tight as I dared without breaking the cover.  I tapped on it, even got a large screw driver and tapped it from the other side. Its still on there.  Anyone know how to remove the crank case cover?

ive never had a problem removing mine. Make sure you have every bolt out. Look behind the sprocket cover and slave cylinder to make sure you didnt miss any. It should come off much easier than yours is. I never even have to use a puller. Make sure you are trying to pull it straight off, even the slightest angle could cause it to bind

I missed a bolt hidden in a cranny be the slave cylinder.  I hate learning new bikes.

Thanks
