I've seen brief reports that Anthony Gobert is now in palliative care at the age of 48. Anyone with credible links?

I'm going to watch the 1996 WSBK races at Phillip Island when Corser won the championship and Gobert won both races on the Muzzy Kawasaki. He rode the bloody wheels off it only to be disqualified in race one for a "carburettor irregularity". He promptly won race two as well.
That’s a shame.
Seems the wild man has burned out his candle prematurely.
A damn shame.
