Finally got it done, Finished and passed.
Ill go to the Maryland MVA this week to actually get legal, so i dont have to ride dirty anymore.
the course was great, had a good time on the little honda 250 nighthawks they had. I am surprised at how some people are afraid of the bike. Some folks in my class were straight up scary on those things. I dont want to see those people on the street on a bike. They will be a liability to themselves and everyone around them.
Congratulations on passing the course.
I took the MSF course on a Honda Rebel 250. It was a very intimidating MC to me since I had never ridden before. After 4 days of riding on my own Rebel, I knew I wanted something bigger (hence, the monster). I would have qualified as one of those people who were scared of the bike, therefore a "liability." They just need some time to practice on their own.
Yea, I took the Rider's Edge course at Carolina Harley D. and we had a guy damn near total a Buell Blast in one of the skills test. We were just cornering and he ran up on the curb and went head first into the parking lot light poll. I saw it and still couldn't believe it. They checked him out and brought him another bike, but he fell over again 15 minutes later (much less dramatic) and they politely told him that motorcycles might not be his thing and gave him a refund. He was pretty pissed and said that he would just go get his license and pass the DMV road course. I doubt the State Patrol was as forgiving if he pulled a header into one of their cruisers. Some people just need 3000lbs of metal around them for their own safety.
Congrats on going to the course....I can't tell you how many riders out there feel they are too good for a MSF course.
I went to the Advanced Course about 4 yrs ago. Did it on a R1...was a real good group. I can't say as much for the group when I took the beginners Course over 10 yrs ago..I was on a new GSXR 750 and people with 250's were doing all sorts of crazy crap. Scary to know these people are sharing the roads with us.
Congrats.
My next door neighbor son finished his course this weekend as well.
Both him and his friend bought a Ninja 250 to start out with. Man thats refreshing considering there age they didn't go for the Gixxer or R1.
They even bought decent gear [thumbsup]
I took them out for a ride this weekend... I did keep my distance =) but all in all they did very well. [thumbsup]
congrats on finishing the MSF RavnMonster [thumbsup]
when i took it, a woman in class had a really hard time...
the instructor told her to stop as she got close to him,
but she still had her hand on the throttle as she freaked out and couldn't find the brakes.
she put her feet down and continued off course, over a burm of grass and into the parking lot where she finally stopped. :o
the next morning she was there early with the instructor getting some one on one...
she ended up quitting.
There was only one person who dropped their bike in my MSF course. She was too short for the bikes and dropped it on herself twice before we even started them up. They asked her to leave because she was a danger to everyone else.
Congrats RavenMonster! Taking the course and getting some of the fundamentals down is always a good thing!
Congrats on finishing your MSF [thumbsup]
Congrats on finishing! You'll be a better rider because of it.
When I took my course a guy in his 30's totally freaked out during one of the higher speed drills and high sided his bike taking out like 3 other riders. No one was hurt very bad but it was crazy to watch. I'm glad people want to ride but 3/4 of that class were dangerous to themselves and everyone else on the road.

Congrats on the MSF. I took the riders edge course at my local harley dealer. Was also on the blast. It was SO EASY and fun; perfect scores on both written and riding. Luckily the people I took the course with were alright.
Thanks guys, Just got back from the MVA and got my license. Good MSF course stories. I think ill go next year or something to take an advanced course. I just love to ride and want to learn anything anyone will teach me. I may go do some track days too just to learn more techniques.
Cant wait to get back on my bike, hopefully the weather will be decent this week to ride to work a few times.
Awesome. Congrats, Ravn! [thumbsup]
I got lucky - not a single problem student in my MSF. No one dropped a bike, and everyone passed the test at the end. Worst we had was a guy who couldn't find neutral and kept stalling his bike.
My brother-in-law just took his, however, and two people showed up with portable oxygen. They dropped out as soon as the riding started. Another guy apparently couldn't take instruction and they dropped him after the second time he dropped a bike.
Congrats Ravn!!! [thumbsup]
