so...i read up on these alpinestars pants...and everyone said order up a size..so i ordered myself a size 50 from kneedraggers...which was a shade too small in the waist. well, it was pretty tight. but you want this to be tight... so i used their exchange system, and paid for shipping to get a size 52 pants shipped to me (half the time i'm about a 34 waist, the other half of the time a 32). the pants arrived today...and i tried them on a few minutes ago. the waist and legs feel fine (huge quads make it somewhat tight, though), but the calf zipper area on each lower leg will not zip, whatsoever. all jokes from the say anything thread aside...my calves are too big, and i cannot zip these shut, not even close, not at all, not even 5%. i'm not Pele, i'm not Floyd Landis....i just apparently have abnormally large calves. so, my loss is your gain. i was hoping to get a great pair of touring/track-able pants out of this...but it was not meant to be with my body. i've paid now about $270 for these...but if anyone in the local group thinks they would fit into a size 52, i'll sell them for say, $240...and i'll deliver them to you for free...hard to beat that.

if no one is interested locally i'll list them in the for sale forum in a few days i guess...great pants...i just need another size up it looks like. and it goes without saying that you can try them on before you buy...
damn, that sucks that they don't fit. I guess a trip to ML will have to be made to get some track pants.

Do they have a 360 degree waist/jacket zipper?
Do the removable knee sliders attach with velcro?
If so is the "IZ_" on the pants or the puck?

the soft "IZ_" is on the pants....and there are large leather "alpinestars" patches that cover them up when you want to use it as more of a touring pants. i can take pics of whatever...or just bring them along for our next meetup...anyone that wants is welcome to try 'em on...no worries.

It sounds like they'll fit. I'm a 34 waist. Sounds like it might work.
If they fit the jacket zippers I've got (some are different BTW) then SOLD!
i'll bring them along next time...make sure you're wearing boxer briefs or something...they're going to be snug [thumbsup]
these are also a surefire way to pick chicks up at the club...not sure if i mentioned that or not...

Chicks must think it's yummy -like a Velcro mini-skirt that won't stay stuck is to us. ;D
i must admit, i thought i looked pretty amazing in them when i had them on...i'd do me.
we'll figure out a time/place in the coming days to meet somewhere or i can just show up at your door in arlington if you would like to try 'em on.

OK, someone HAD to edit that post! Come on, you know you were thinking about doing that and I just beat you to it!! [laugh] Thanks Rich for the helping me explore my tasteless humor. [thumbsup]
Yeah, I'm still waiting for a picture of the mondo calves.
(Did I say that out loud...?)
What's the inseam and waist size; sounds like the waist was a 32 maybe? You know come to think of it, your fitting issue could be because the pants have a "regular" inseam. Maybe a longer inseam would work better?
3 - 2 - 1...
