Well, the orders came through.
They want me to start working remotely on the 18th. So, I'll still be around just working for the new company. The really hard part is they want me up there on September 2nd. Crazy.
So, we're selling the house and have a few odds and ends that we'll be putting in a yard sale come the 23rd. Nothing really fancy, just decluttering.
The house will be officially on the market as of tonight. Seriously, if anyone is in the market for the area it's a great house. I think we're listing it at $218,900. A really good deal, actually. I've got two or three really tiny things to do before the realtor comes and takes pictures though so I'll be busy these next couple of days making it all pretty.
If you're interested there will be an open house this Sunday (crosses fingers) I'll PM you the address and you can be sure to come and keep the riff raff from digging through my things. Or maybe you'll dig through them...whatever.
It's finally starting to sink in. I'm really doing this. Man I need a beer or six.
Well, I've accepted a job in Seattle. Publicis in the West wants me up there to work on their up and coming interactive division and has finally agreed to pay me a wage I can live on. There are very few things I'm going to miss about Dallas, but this group is one of 'em.
As of right now we're getting ready to sell the house, figuring out a start date for the job and deciding how the hell we're gonna move our life across the country. So, I don't really have many details yet.
But if anyone's looking for a cute little cottage type house in Little Forest Hills, lemme know. 2 bed, 2 bath, 1 car garage with extra storage space, new electrical...actually a great little house. Hate to leave it.
I'll keep you all up to date with details, but thought I'd announce it was happening finally. [thumbsup]
Congratulations on your new job. [thumbsup] [beer]
I hate to hear that you're leaving us, tho. I wish you the best up there in the Land of Pike's Market. Watch out for the flying fish.
sorry to see ya go, man...great town though, i'm happy for ya. you'll want to stock up on rain gear for the duc for sure though. great riding out there i hear...i'm sure you guys will have a blast; i had a couple friends that moved there from dallas a year ago and they've been loving it ever since.
Congrats on the new gig [thumbsup]
I had an uncle who lived in the Seattle area; loved to go visit. Then we had a neighbor years ago that retired up there... Must be *something* to it [laugh]
Congrats on the new digs - here's to hoping it's better than you expect, in every respect [beer]
Man, hate to hear that you're leaving, but happy to hear that the move is a good one for you.
I'll be gone in two days, and you'll be gone when I get back, so I'll say, "Best of everything to ya!" now...
Best of everything to ya! Good luck and Godspeed!
Best,
Norris
Congrats on the job man. Still hate to see you move out of the area, hopefully we will have a going away party for ya [thumbsup]
Congrats on your new job! Seattle rocks! I moved to Dallas from Vancouver, B.C. Similar weather, but nicer mountains. :) At least you have a very short trip to the best skiing resort in North America.........Whistler! [thumbsup]
Have you bought your rain gear yet?
ARGH!
They want me there the first of next month. Somebody come buy my house, and fast!
$2.00
do they need any tech managers? can I come? used to know some folks at publicis, both in San Francisco, and here...
does purchase of said house also include an honorary position with the lollie bomb troupe?? that would be a pretty sweet selling point.
good luck selling!!! we got very lucky with knowing who wanted ours so we never even had to put it on the market. they were getting pretty sick of an older area of grapevine. some developer bought theirs 2 days after they put it up. MOVING SUCKS!!! hopefully i can at least meet you once before you leave.
Hey Ryan,
Congrats on the new gig. Sounds like a good career move for you. I'll have to look you up next time I'm in the N.W. [beer]
Congrats Ryan!! I use to live in seattle 87-89 and I rode all the time up there, I just had a great rain suit. Hope your house sells as quick as mine did (3 days) [thumbsup] Man is it nice up there in the summer time. Enjoy and good luck!! ;D
Bump for a really great house [thumbsup]
Bump for updates. ;D
