I was wondering what most of you all do for storage of your registration or other important paperwork you need to carry with you when riding. I put mine in the small storage area under the seat with the tool kit. But that is gonna be a giant PIA if i get pulled over and have to dig that out.
where do you guys keep yours?
before I received the registration from DMV, I carried the long ass contract in my backpack.
Now I just fold the registration card and insurance card and put them into a ziplock bag and it fit nicely inside toolkit bag.

that was always my method.
if i get stopped and have to dig it out, well, them's the breaks...
wallet
I always ride with a book bag and it just stays in there... You never know when impulse spending may occur...
Registration?
Proof of insuance?
Why bother?!!!
Next they are going to want a DRIVER'S LICENSE!!!
This is the NEW AMERICA!!! It impedes the CIVIL RIGHTS of the people to force them to pay for such petty things!!!
I keep a photocopy in the "tool box" under the seat, along with a the originals in my inside jacket pocket.
I keep the insurance card in my wallet and leave the registration at home. They probably already have it up on the computer before you're even stopped.
I put everything under the seat in a zip loc bag. Last time I got pulled over the cop looked at me funny as I was taking off the seat just as he was getting out of his car. Understood and was very patient once he figured out what I was doing.
Oh yeah, no ticket and commented that it was a nice ride [cheeky]
I use a packing list envelope - the kind you use on cartons to hold shipping paperwork......
Cheap - self adhesive and stuff stays dry (so far)
I just stick it on the seat bottom and slip the papers inside - leaving the backing on the flap adhesive
If they get damaged, I 've got a million more of 'em
in my pocket...

this is a fine idea though [thumbsup]
License in wallet. Paperwork in jacket pocket. I always wear the jacket so I always have my paperwork.
I laminated all the "important" paperwork and just stuck it under the seat w/ the tools.

+1. used to carry it around in the book bag, but i dont always have it with me and got paranoid.
If im missing any of those 3 + safety sticker, its a $115 fine, and impound. Oh and Welcome to NYC.
I keep originals in my wallet. A copy of them at home, a copy of them in each of my moto jackets incase i forgot to put my important stuff back into my wallet that day.(i usually empty it out when i go out to clubs or drinking), also keep one in the toolkit with a ziplock. So im covered.
copy in wallet
copy under seat (although this one has been known to be out of date)
originals with manual at home
In the nifty sealed storage tube underneth my Sargent seat. [thumbsup]

What Cotton said ^^^^^
papers in ziplock, ziplock in inside pocket of leather jacket. never leave home without (them).
I keep a separate wallet for the bike papers and copies of them under the seat. Placement of that wallet varries.
I have this and it works awesome:

registration and insurance for all the bikes in a zip loc bag in my helmet (at the top Arai RX7)...license in back pocket
wallet in a back pack, license in wallet. insurance and registration under seat. if [leo] wants it, he is just gonna have to wait.
In chest pocket of my riding jacket.
Every year, I laminate the registration and insurance cards so they don't disintegrate from sweat or if I get caught out in rain.
I keep the registration and insurance papers in a ziplock bag under the seats of the Monster and the Vespa since my wife and I ride both - no use having them in a jacket pocket if that jacket isn't on the rider.
There's no reason not to keep the papers with the bike, and lots of reasons to do so.
Like most other people, I use a ziplock and keep it under the seat. Not sure about older models but on the 696 there's a little hole where some of the electronics for the rear are housed and I just stuffed it in there.
Come to think of it, it might be open below that... :o
In a hip bag. Dolph
License in wallet. Papers are in the inside pocket of my leather jacket, I never ride without it.
+1 on the ziplock in the helmet liner.

same
+1 for wallet
DL, insurance card, and Reg all in my wallet. Using a storage area under the seat makes the [leo] a bit wary, they aren't sure what else you are gonna pull out of there. Not anything worng with keeping it there but just be aware that they are (or should be) watching very intenetly while you are getting your stuff out.
Other tip: If pulled over get off the bike and remove your helmet. Then put helmet on the ground or on bike, it's a weapon. If your gonna reach in your jacket for your wallet or paperwork, wait until asked, tell them where it is, and then do it. Don't start going into your jacket while they are getting out of the car or off their bike.
god bless australia.
all you need is your licence! well there is a rego sticker too but it is stuck to the bike. and all cop cars have the info on their computer, so they know all about you as soon as the camera picks up your plate.
i had one copper check my licence when i got pulled over at midnight on his computer and it turned out my drivers licence and riders licence weren't synchronised... DAMN INCOMPETENT RTA! $400 fine.... wrote a letter and got off /woot/
Oddly enough I had to pull them out from under my sargent seat this evening after a little run in with [leo]
The [leo] was very friendly but I was sure to mention to him exactly what I was doing, removing the seat, and why I was doing it, to get the insurance and registration papers.
you guys carry around a lot of stuff!
i thought the stickers on our plates were for registration. ???
i just carry the DL and proof of insurance in my wallet.
I carry my insurance and ownership tucked inside my helmet ... [popcorn]
.... I thought all motorcycle riders did that!
Its always with you, dry and accessable; my paperwork is carefully folded and tucked in the lower left back where it doesnt effect the air circulation & venting.
[moto]
Ziplock-type bag holds registration and insurance info in my jacket pocket.
Since I never ride without my jacket, I always have it.
i like the shipping sticker/envelope under the seat and photocopy idea [thumbsup] they usually get ruined in my wallet
