Planning on buy a 696 this week. I have two options, stock 696 for 8775, or a demo unit with 716 miles, the upgraded seat and exhaust for 9775.

I am not sure which turmignoni system it is, they are the same general shape as the stock ones, but carbon fiber. The sales guy had said that the did "the whole system." It sounded pretty nice when I rode it.
Any thoughts?
Mike
Have they done the 600 mile service? Make sure the exhaust is full system and not just slip-on. Otherwise, I'd try to beat them down on price a bit more (softening economy)...maybe throw in some gear, tail bag, etc...and go for the one with 716 miles. Bike should still be under full warranty.

The seat is comfortable and the CF termis are just the slip ons and not the whole system. Ducati has not released the manifold for it just yet. I would take it for an extra grand, but who knows how hard the test riders beat on the bike. just my .02
The demo should be the same price even with the goodies. Someone correct me if I am wrong but after 600 miles the dealer gets Demo credit. BTW the dealership has made plenty off the demo rides in terms of sales and PR.
i'd only be concerned the fact that its a demo...
I beat the crap outta them when i get a chance...kinda like getting a rented car, you have fun in it and do things you normaly wouldn't do if you were paying for it...ebrake the thing, maybe jump it...lol
that's what runs through my head when i think "demo" [moto]

not me, i always follow strict break-in guidelines when riding demos. [laugh]
Let me guess, your avatar photo was taken on a test ride [thumbsup]
Personally, I don't get the hysteria over aftermarket seats. I have a sargent on one of my bikes and stock seats on my other two. I actually find the sargent seat to be the least comfortable. My nuts hate it. [bang]
Well I opted for the "demo." I did find out that most of the miles were put on by the sales and parts staff. I am guessing it was probably rode a little hard. They had done the 600 mile maintenance, so it made me feel a little better. Overall I feel pretty good about it.
I had the best ride into work ever this morning. I really like how this bike rides.
Mike
If you are satisfied with it Chieftan that's all that matters. Congrats on the new ride. ;D
Demo was a god deal! and since you are already through the break-in you can ride it like you stole it [evil]
