Title: New Headlight Assembly
Post by: tjt011 on August 06, 2008, 07:25:12 AM
I was looking to upgrade my headlight assembly to a totally different look, I'm not in love with the round headlight assembly on my s2r800 Dark and would like to upgrade it to a more futuristic look.  On eBay they sell headlights assemblies for all different kinds of bikes, is it possible for me to put a headlight assembly on my monster from a different bike?  Any suggestions or things I should take into consideration besides the fact that I'll have to create a custom mount?

No way to know without the specifics.  It could be as easy as plug-n-play or you may need to crimp connectors and fab/adapt brackets.  As long as the bulbs are 12V bulbs you should be able to get anything to work with a little effort.

It's very do-able. Find a headlight you like first. There will invariably be a mount for it. Then find a way of attaching the mount to your bike.

I used to have a small Headwinds lamp. All that was needed to attach the mount was to drill two holes into the lower triple. Anyway I got to missing my big ol' stock lamp and it's back now. ;D
